Fashion month is pandemonium – but in the midst of new, exciting and occasionally terrifying trends, some things weather the storm of change. Make up maestro Gucci Westman is rarely seen without Dr. Hauschka’s exquisite {Rose Day Cream} – rich in emollient shea butter and avocado to rehabilitate stressed-out model skin (all that flying/war paint/raving takes its toll). Reparative and conditioning, dry complexions quickly drink it up – while the inclusion of marshmallow and St. John’s wort works to soothe irritation, calm inflammation and help to re-establish equilibrium.
And of course, no backstage would be complete without Embryolisse {Lait-Crème Concentré}; used behind-the-scenes at Jason Wu by Diane Kendal, to smudge brown liner and create a slightly glossy, smoky-eyed effect. And at Proenza Schouler – adored for their boundary-pushing – Diane elected to dispense with make up altogether (terror)! She scrapped foundation and concealer in favour of a generous dollop of this brightening and beautifying potion, massaged into models’ skin to grant an über-dewy, fresh-faced finish.
And if you fancy looking as lit-from-within as the flawless Jing Wen (pictured above, snapped backstage during NYFW), but aren’t brave enough to completely forgo some complexion perfecting enhancement – find out how to lighten up and ‘youthify’ your base with South Korea’s latest foundation fixation {right here}.
