  • TRUDON Alabaster Vesta 270g

Image 1 of 1

Replacing the traditional green-glass is delicate alabaster, these candles are not only luxurious scents for your space, but make for stunning sculptural centrepieces (complete with a matching top).

Exclusive to The Alabasters range, Vesta embodies a luminous halo and a feeling of clarity. Named for and inspired by the asteroid discovered in 1807 — as well as the Roman deity whose presence was symbolised by an eternal flame — this delicate candle suggests a luminous appearance. Building on a fruity aroma of rose, freesia and jasmine, this softens into a balmy, musky base to create an overall fruity chypre accord. Green notes of moss and mandarin add a luminous complexity to this fresh yet floral scent, mirroring the transparency of the sculptural alabaster container it's held within. The ultimate interior accessory, this balances the art of fragrance with covetable sculptural prowess.

In order to get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts. To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 2 hours at a time during the first third of the candle and 1 hour at a time during the remaining. Do not leave candle burning unattended. Do not set in a draft. Keep away from children, curtains and pets. Should the wick require centering, gently readjust to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow candle to solidify before relighting. Should any black smoke appear, trim the tip of the wick. It should be clean and no longer than 5mm at all times. Always protect the table or surface on which the candle rests (with a wood or ceramic plate, for example). Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5 mm of non-molten wax at the bottom. Keep your candle in a dry and temperate environment, between 60 and 80° F. The first use of your candle should occur within the two first months after its reception.

Established in the 17th century, Cire Trudon is the oldest candle maker in the world and was responsible for perfuming the persons – and the palaces – of the French monarchy (until Napoleon staked his claim to the country and its première candle creators). Meet The Alabasters, the latest in a long line of iconic candles, sculpted in Spain out of a single block, these truly are a one-of-a-kind creation.

Burn time: 55 to 60 hours.

The Trudon Alabasters are a welcome addition to the range. The ability to refill the fragrances is thoughtful and I hope to see Trudon expand with additional fragrances, perhaps inline with holiday releases.
