Everyone knows that a new season means a new excuse to overhaul your wardrobe — that includes fashion and beauty, so a chunky knit scarf isn’t the only thing you should be adding to your basket.

If a seasonal overhaul of your beauty shelf sounds enticing (of course it does), then you're probably wondering what autumn/winter trends you ought to be in the know about. To save you time trawling through TikTok in search ofwhat’s hot, we’ve rounded up the A/W23 beauty trends that need to be on your radar... and your ‘to buy’ list.

HOT CHOCOLATE NAILS

With the weather getting colder (and colder) there’s nothing more satisfying that wrapping your hands around a cup of hot chocolate — an experience made even better with a matching manicure, as seen on the likes of Hailey Bieber (queen of the very similarlatte look) and Rihanna. From the Nails Inc. Keep It Tonal Nail Polish Set to L’Occitane’s oh-so-soothing Shea Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Oil (ideal for dry, chapped hands brought about by a drop in temperature), these are the must-haves you need to nail the hot chocolate trend.

THE GO-WITH-THE-FLOW-DRY

Cancel your expensive salon appointments, this season it’s all about pared-back, undone hair. Before you get too excited though, that doesn’t mean you can quite literally roll out of bed and into the office without even running a brush through your hair (side note: we absolutely will be doing that on days we’ve snoozed our alarm a few too many times). Instead, think: no-make up make up, but for your tresses. It’s undone hair, but purposefully undone.

A TOUCH OF FROST

Let the chilly winter weather inspire your make up looks this season by adding a touch of frost to your canvas. Think: cool blue eyeshadow and highlighted cheeks that could rival a snow-capped mountain. A trend harking back decades (we’re talking Kate Moss circa 2000), more recently celebs, including Dua Lipa and — in collaboration with Charlotte Tilbury — Jourdan Dunn, have given us a modern take on the look. Frost yourself with these favourites...

THE BLUSHER THE BETTER

If TikTok is anything to go by, the more-is-more blusheraestheticisn’t going anywhere. But, when it comes to A/W blush, we're expanding our horizons. If you’re a fan of the I’m coldmake up trend, after dusting your cheeks with colour, swipe your loaded blusher brush(or finger or beauty blender) across the tip of your nose to create a frostbitten effect — but cuter.

KISSED BY A VAMP

Somebody get Edward Cullen on the phone, ‘cause this trend requires a kiss from a vamp. Ready to channel your inner Bella Swan? Achievedeliciously dark lips — we’retalking:rich red anddeep burgundy with a matte finish — courtesy of Pat McGrath Labs, Christian Louboutin Beauty, Urban Decay and more. BRB, off to book a one-way flight to Forks...
