A 101 GUIDE TO SAIE

Updated: 30/09/2026

Some beauty discoveries earn a permanent place in your makeup bag. Saie is one of ours. Cult Beauty was the first UK retailer to stock Saie, launching the brand in 2020. From those early glow-giving essentials to the formulas joining your routine today, we’ve been here for the journey. And there’s plenty more to discover.

Whether you’re wondering which Saie blush to choose, how to use Glowy Super Gel or where to start with the brand, consider this your introduction. Expect texture talk, application tips and a few very good reasons to make room on your beauty shelf.

In this article

What is Saie?

Founded by Laney Crowell in 2019, Saie is a makeup brand known for luminous skin, blendable colour and formulas that bring skincare ingredients into your makeup routine. Think sheer tints, dewy blushers and soft washes of bronze, with room to build up the colour when the mood calls.

And the name? Saie is pronounced “say”. Its community has always had plenty to say, too. When we caught up with Laney for our 2020 founder interview, she told us: “My community inspired me!” That conversation is part of our history with a brand that puts listening at the heart of its approach.

The appeal is easy to understand: wearable makeup that lets your skin remain part of the picture. A little more glow, a little more colour, still very much you.

Which Saie products should you try first?

Start with the finish you love. You don’t need the whole line-up to find your Saie staples.

Meet your Saie base: glow, tint and coverage

Glowy Super Gel: the glow starts here

Glowy Super Gel is a lightweight illuminator that gives skin a fresh, light-catching finish. Wear it alone when luminosity is the brief, smooth it beneath your base or tap a little onto the high points of your face after foundation. It adds glow without doing the coverage work of a skin tint or concealer.

To apply, spread a thin layer with your fingertips and blend evenly. Starglow brings a champagne sheen, while Sunglow adds a golden-bronze glow. Choose your shade for the effect you want, then let the rest of your makeup follow its lead.

Slip Tint and Glowy Super Skin: choose your coverage

Reach for Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer when you want sheer coverage and a dewy finish. Its flexible tint makes it an easy starting point for no-makeup makeup: blend across the face, then add concealer only where you want extra coverage.

Prefer a foundation? Glowy Super Skin Foundation offers buildable coverage with a radiant finish. Work in light layers so you can decide how much to add. The beauty of a buildable base is that you’re in charge.

Slip Tint Concealer or Hydrabeam?

Slip Tint Radiant All-Over Concealer offers medium coverage for spot concealing and use across the face, including under the eyes. Hydrabeam Sheer Brightening Under Eye Concealer gives lighter coverage with a dewy finish, making it an option when under-eye brightness is your main aim.

Choose based on the coverage you want, then tap a small amount into place and soften the edges. Explore Saie face makeup to compare the formulas and shades.

Saie blush: Dew Blush or SuperSuede?

For a fresh, dewy cheek, start with Dew Blush. Its liquid-gel texture blends with fingertips or a brush, so you can keep the colour sheer or build a more expressive flush. Start with a small dot on each cheek, blend, then decide whether you want another. Blush enthusiasm is welcome; a little at a time keeps you in control.

Prefer powder? SuperSuede Radiant Blush Powder gives cheeks a softly diffused, radiant finish. Sweep it on with a powder blush brush, building the colour in light layers. You can also layer it over Dew Blush once the liquid has settled for more depth.

Both bring colour to the cheeks; texture is the deciding factor. Choose Dew Blush for a dewy liquid finish or SuperSuede for a soft powder finish. Discover your next flush in our Saie blush selection. For more ways to wear a softly diffused flush, explore our watercolour makeup guide.

Which Saie bronzer is right for you?

Saie’s bronzers offer three different textures, so finding your formula starts with how you like to apply your makeup.

  • Dew Bronze: a lightweight liquid-gel bronzer with a soft-focus finish. Use the applicator to place small amounts where you want warmth and definition, then blend.
  • Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer: a cream-balm formula for a softly bronzed look. Pick up a little with The Big Brush and buff across the areas you want to warm up.
  • SuperSuede Radiant Baked Bronzer: a buildable powder with a radiant, diffused finish. Sweep on with a powder brush, adding colour gradually.

If you’ve been searching for Saie bronzing drops, it helps to separate the finishes: Glowy Super Gel in Sunglow adds a sheer bronze luminosity, while the bronzers above give you more targeted colour and definition. Browse Saie bronzers to find your texture match.

Set your makeup, keep your glow

A dewy routine can still include powder. Slip Tint Undetectable Baked Setting Powder offers a lightweight finishing step in a compact, while Airset Radiant Loose Setting Powder is the loose-powder option. Press a little onto the areas you want to set, leaving the rest of your glow to do its thing.

For a mist, reach for CitySet Lightweight Setting Spray. Its fine spray helps extend makeup wear with a natural, dewy finish. Use it as your finishing step, following the directions on the bottle. Find all three in our Saie complexion collection.

The finishing touches: lips, eyes and brushes

Glossybounce and Lip Liner 101

Glossybounce Hydrating Lip Oil brings together the shine of a gloss and the cushioning feel of an oil. Swipe it on alone for an easy finishing touch, or pair it with Lip Liner 101 when you want to define your natural lip shape first. Meet the pair in our Saie lip collection.

SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadow and Mascara 101

There’s more to Saie than a glowing base. SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadow brings a creamy powder texture to the lids, with demi-matte and shimmer finishes to explore. Sweep on a neutral shade for a quick wash of colour, or add a deeper shade for definition. Finish with Mascara 101 for length and definition, and explore the rest of our Saie eye makeup.

The tools to bring it together

Your fingers can handle plenty of the blending, but a well-chosen brush gives you another way to play. Try The Big Brush for cream bronzer, The Base Brush for targeted liquid bronzer application or a powder brush for your baked formulas. Explore Saie brushes to match your tools to your textures.

How to build an everyday Saie makeup routine

Use this as a starting point and keep the steps that suit you.

  1. Bring the glow. Apply a light layer of Glowy Super Gel to prepared skin.
  2. Choose your coverage. Blend in Slip Tint or Glowy Super Skin, then tap on concealer where you want it. Happy with your base already? Move straight to colour.
  3. Add warmth and a flush. Blend your chosen bronzer and blush in light layers. If you’re combining liquids and powders, apply the liquids first.
  4. Finish your way. Add eyeshadow, mascara and Glossybounce, then set where needed with powder or CitySet.

For your base shade, compare swatches with your face and neck in daylight and check the undertone descriptions. Each formula has its own shade range, so use the guidance for the product you’re choosing. Our guide to finding your skin tone and undertone can help you get started.

Saie makeup bags, vanity cases and sets

Yes, the makeup bag gets its own moment. Saie’s vanity cases bring a little dressing-table charm to your daily essentials, while sets offer another way to explore the range or introduce someone else to the brand.

Choose a standalone Saie Vanity Case when you want a new home for your favourites, or browse a set when you’re looking for products too. Check the individual listing for exactly what’s included: cases and filled sets are different purchases. Explore the current selection of Saie makeup, accessories and sets.
