Good, But Too Heavy for Fine Hair
For reference, I have fine to medium hair, and at first I used this with the matching shampoo, which turned out to be too much for my hair type. After about a month, my hair started to feel weighed down, so for finer hair, this combo can definitely feel overly coating. I much prefer this conditioner paired with a lighter shampoo. Overall, it’s a decent smoothing, softening, and detangling conditioner, but I see hair products in two categories: 1. products that make hair feel better immediately 2. products that actually repair. Amika is firmly in the first category. It gives softness and smoothness, but there’s nothing particularly transformative about it. I’ve used almost the whole bottle, but I don’t think I’ll repurchase. It’s probably better suited for medium-thick, dry, coarse, or frizz-prone hair, while on finer hair it can feel heavy over time. Plus, if your hair needs real repair, this isn’t enough, and honestly, cheaper conditioners can probably deliver similar smoothing.
