Nude lip lovers - rejoice! This summer's latest lipstick crop has some of prettiest pale hues we've encountered, plus a few stronger statement shades...

As much as an iconic red lip looks utterly traffic-stopping, there is also a case to be made for dramatic eyes with a pale lip à la Jean Shrimpton - which one may say is just as dazzling. Tragically these nude lip shades tend to often go overlooked by beauty companies in favour of their ‘prima donna reds’ - with the odd lighter shade thrown in as an afterthought. Yet a good nude lip is like a decent pair of brows in its ability to transform a face without being immediately noticeable (and can subtly augment the shape of your lips for a plumped-up effect). So we were pleased as punch to find several new launches for spring that are not only eye-catching but über flattering...

Few brands know how to nail a nude like our beloved {Huda Beauty}. They've recently added to their famous liquid lipsticks with the {Liquid Matte Nude Love Collection}, a quartet of nudes that are the pink of perfection. Boasting the same budge-proof formula and vivid Insta-worthy pigment as their predecessors, we're currently coveting 'Wifey' - it's the ultimate dusky rose hue.

Also flying the flag for understated lip colour are {NYX Professional Make Up} with their {Lingerie Liquid Lipstick} a delightful array of delicate shades lifted straight from the boudoir - from peach to cappuccino - as well as the deeper tea rose and cocoa.

And if you like your nude with a side of statement allure, Jouer have also hit it out of the ballpark with their new oh-so-stunning Rose Gold incarnations of the sheer {Long-Wear Lip Topper} and the more opaque {Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick}. Each one has been given a lustrous metallic texture infused with ultra-fine pearls, together with a hefty dose of nourishing Vitamin E to protect lips in the cold weather. Elsewhere in the show-stopping stakes is {Kevyn Aucoin's The Molten Lip Colour: Molten Metals} packed with multi-dimensional pearls that create a high-shine lacquered effect in one simple coat, evoking the swagger of '90s 'super' Christy Turlington.

While for busy beauty junkies, the {Nudestix} collection was inspired by the founder's desire for a quick and convenient crayon for scribbling on a pretty touch of polish whilst out and about. Their {Lip and Cheek Pencil} in Whisper is the ultimate handbag must-have - packed with nourishing shea butter and plumping peptides, it bestows the prettiest rose hue to create a 'your lips but better' effect.

With such a sumptuous array of nudes to choose from - we couldn't think of a better way to get our make up looking spot on for spring.
