Strange texture but works

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

The texture of this takes a bit of getting used to at first. Initially I did not like it at all, however I was using far too much product which left my skin super greasy for hours. I've found it best to use after an acid step as a treatment - i.e. more of a mask that you massage in and then leave on for as long as you can and then gently rinse off with a cloth. Now on my second bottle as I really found it worked for fines lines and even tone and texture. Highly recommend.

Okay

After using I always had a shine on my face and it was soft and smooth. However, it also made my skin too sensitive that by continuous use my skin was starting to get lightly scarred I had to apply Vaseline overnight to make them go. I wouldn't use it daily but about thrice a week.

Didn't work for me

Bought it for my uneven skin tone and it has made my hyperpigmentation worse for some reason.

Would totally recommend

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

After a month of usage, I noticed that it brightened my skin and treated my uneven skin tone. The texture is gritty and it does sting a bit but I'm totally okay with it since I use it at night. It's a must-have, really.

Not for sensitive skins

Tingling sensation very strong. Stay away from it if your skin is sensitive.

Not sure if this is doing anything...

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

From the mixed reviews, I was aware this would be quite an odd thing to put on my face, but I decided to give it a go. I am not sure it's doing anything, I've been using it for a month now and I really don't know if I can see any differences. It's definitely not been bad for my skin but perhaps I need to use it more to see the benefits. So I will keep using Vitamin C products, but won't be repurchasing this product. I didn't feel any tingling on my skin, but the problem is that it's not comfortable at all. It's rather greasy and grainy, and once I put it on my face it feels very heavy. I also ended up with an orange pillow... so now I have to put a towel on my pillow before going to bed. This product is too much hassle for me to consider buying again.

Serious skin care

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This was one of those"I don't really know what I'm buying deals. The first night I used it I applied it lazily before bed, noticed a tingling sensation on my face but that was expected, but when I woke the next morning my skin looked so luscious & plump I couldn't believe it (then I noticed my nails & hands were dyed orange, apparently u should wash carefully bc it will collect & dye around the nail area). I can't say enough good things about this, only don't be intimidated by the tingling is the vitamin c at work. LOVE The Ordinary.

Dissappointing

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I couldn`t wait to try this after reading the reviews. Not only have I seen absolutely no difference in my skin I can`t believe no one else has said that it stains the pillowcase yellow. Sorry but I can not recommend it and have thrown it away.

Not on my repurchase list

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Smells like fake tan, has turned my palms orange, even when I wash my hands after use it gets in around my nails and hard/dry bits of skin, looking like I've done a bad fake tan. Too grainy for me personally, this probably isn't for you if you don't like silicone based products. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference from using this. Takes a long time to sink in and does pill if you haven't left long enough between applying next product.

Very sticky

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I find the consistency very thick and sticky, so would advise using a very small amount on entire face and neck. It is also very grainy, which is ok to use before bed, as it is very slightly abrasive. I find it too sticky to apply before makeup. The tingling sensation is quite strong which gave me a few itchy heat spots. I have also tried The Ordinary AHA peel, which gives the same sensation. This does make me wonder if it is the same ingredient used to give a tingling feeling, rather than the actual active ingredient?
