SPF first, lip oil second. I think that’s the best way to look at this. It’s not trying to be a Dior lip oil. It’s a functional SPF50+ for the lips, inspired by the easygoing Australian beach lifestyle, that just happens to come in a glossy lip oil format. Yes, it feels simple, but that’s exactly why I like it. I’d much rather have a lip oil that gives me proper SPF50+ protection than one that’s simply trendy and pretty. For me, that makes it more useful than most lip oils on the market.

SPF first, lip oil second
I think this product makes much more sense when you look at it for what it is: an SPF 50 for your lips first, and a lip oil second. The SPF protection is the main reason I use it. I apply it before lipstick, directly on my lips, and find the formula smooth, comfortable and non-sticky. It also leaves a nice glossy base under lipstick. I love the cool, simple packaging and the applicator does exactly what it needs to do. I wouldn’t compare it to a makeup-focused lip gloss like Danessa Myricks or Prada. That’s not really its purpose. It’s inspired by an easygoing Australian surf culture: simple, comfortable and, most importantly, SPF 50 protection for your lips.
