A True Luxury Highlighter — Beautiful Formula, But Not My Everyday Comfort Zone
I’ve spent years searching for a powder highlighter that delivers radiance without emphasizing texture. Liquids and gels never worked for me — they disappear once I set my face with powder, and most feel too sticky to layer over makeup. So when I saw the presentation of the Hermès Plein Air H Trio Iridescent Mineral Powder in Corail Mojave, I couldn’t resist, even though my hopes weren’t high. The powder itself is undeniably luxurious. It’s finely milled, soft to the touch, and blends seamlessly into the skin, leaving a natural, non-powdery finish that lasts all day. The formula contains a hyaluronic acid derivative, which helps prevent dryness — a thoughtful touch that makes it comfortable even on sensitive skin. The hues in Corail Mojave (icy champagne, pale gold, and coppery orange) combine into a soft champagne-gold glow that looks cohesive and elegant. With the right technique — well-prepped, moisturized skin, a light hand, a fluffy brush, and blending with a sponge or misted brush — it can give a subtle radiance that avoids the dreaded “disco ball” effect. The shimmer is refined, and the result is luminous rather than glittery. That said, this still isn’t my “holy grail.” The high concentration of pearlescent pigments means it will show as a highlight, and at 40+ I sometimes feel self-conscious about wearing something so noticeable in real life — it risks looking like I’m trying too hard. Bottom line: The formula is excellent, the finish is beautiful when applied carefully, and the experience is undeniably luxe (including the price tag). But whether it feels truly wearable day-to-day depends on your personal comfort with visible highlight. For me, it remains more of a special-occasion product than an everyday staple.

This is not a blingy highlighter, it’s very light and reflective, perfect for everyday. It gives natural glow, so when not used extensively it’s hard to tell you have a highlighter on, you just simply look like a barbie. The formula is something different on the market, it’s powder, but melts into the skin. No glitter, no micro-dust, no metallic sheen, when I first swatched it on my arm I was a bit disappointed, but after applying it to my face…wow, it’s my favourite now. Rose Atacama is perfect for fair skin, you get massive amount of product (18g) and 3 shades in one.
