I ordered it at first to try slugging as nothing seems to moisturise my skin enough, but when I received it, it somehow just stayed on my shelf waiting for its time without even being opened. One time my mom used it on her skin behind her knees, which is really bad and itchy because of a medication, and she said it was the first ointment that actually gave her some relief, even considering all the pharmacy stuff that doctor had suggested or prescribed. Still, it was patiently waiting for me to try it until yesterday when I was decluttering my blushes, meaning I applied and removed a lot of blushes within one hour and by the last blushes, I felt my skin under my eye-on top of my cheeks starting to burn. When I finished, I looked my skin with a magnifying mirror and dear lord, had I damaged the skin, you could see little capillaries and irritated skin. No matter what skincare I tried applying there (I only use fragrance- and essential oil-free products), they alllll stunggg. Then I remembered this patient little product on my shelf and put that on. INSTANT relief, no stinging. Now, 24 hours later, the compromised and damaged skin is looking and feeling much better. Not quite back to normal, still some capillaries coming through, but that is to be expected when it's only been a day after damaging my skin barrier. I'll keep using it on the irritated area, finally start slugging in the evening plus already using it on my lips and cuticles. I'm so glad I had this product at hand during my painful crisis. I strongly suggest to have a little tube of this at home, even if you don't use it every day, because you'll never know when and what for you might need this little hero.

Favorite as a lip mask
I use it as an overnight mask for my extremely dry, chapped lips. I live in a cold climate so it is a must have during colder months. Bought it as an alternative for more expensive lip treatments as I hadn’t found an affordable and effective mask/thicker lip balm yet. I actually found it after trying Laneige lip mask and searching the internet for reviews and someone recommended trying CeraVe repair ointment instead. The ointment is unscented and using it before bed or sometimes twice a day has really improved the look and feel of my lips. Haven’t tried it for dry skin elsewhere yet but I am sure it works well on any type of epithelium. I actually felt very sad when I misplaced my tube and couldn’t use it for a week and since it was sold out everywhere near me I couldn’t just go get a new one. Fortunately I found it just when I was about to order a new tube online but that means I still need to get a back up tube in case it gets lost again. CeraVe repair ointment is now one of the absolute must haves in my skincare routine and that says a lot since I have tried countless different balms, ointments, masks and so on without much luck. Sometimes I use a thinner product with certain active ingredients just before applying it and will soon try that technique on other body parts as my dermatologist recommended to do with vaseline. I still prefer CeraVe over plain vaseline because although the texture and feel is similar at first, I find vaseline to be a bit uncomfortable after a short time and slightly less effective in the long run.
