a surprise hit
i bought this on a sort of whim, I am usually a neutrals girl, but I really liked the colour story, so I bought it on a whim. I wasn't expecting to still be using it much after the first flush of excitement wore off, but that is not what happened. I find I pull it out all the time, in fact it rarely seems to leave my vanity. I find the formulas very easy to use, pigmented enough, but easy to blend mattes, lovely impactful shimmers? It has turned out to be a very useful palette that stands on its own, but also plays well with others. Really happy with this splurge!

The last item I bought from ABH was the Jackie Aina palette, we all agree that one was gorgeous, but, after that, every lunch has been very meh for me. We all agree as well that this Nouveau palette is a redemption for the brand. The colour story is beautiful and, more important, new to the market, I cannot think from the top of my head on any other palette similar to this one. The greens are so wearable, the dark shimmer in the corner is soooo dark yet blendable - because is not a matte, precisely - the bone colour shows up on my skin (I'm a light-medium gal) and Fleur is such a flattering rosy peach. All the shades are magnificent. Did anybody say powdery? Not at all, imo. Pigmented blendable gorgeous pieces of art, I say. And the packaging, we love it too, right? I think this is my favourite ABH palette to the date.

The quality of the shadows are really good, as expected of Anastasia. The colours are not as pigmented as the Subculture palette (the only other palette I own and love), but that’s not really the vibe of this palette either. I live the soft muted colour scheme and am so happy I bought this! The lasting power is good too (I rarely use eye primer)!
