Founded by David Yi in 2016, good light is the skin care brand that’s redefining and celebrating beyond the gender binary. Inspired by his Korean father's approach to self care, David founded the website Very Good Light after grappling with his dual heritage. Intrigued by his Korean roots and its dedication to skin care as a form of self care, David struggled with the Western notion of skin care being a weakness of masculinity. So, he sought to challenge the preconceived notions of what it meant to be ‘masculine’ by celebrating diverse identities that encourage self-expression. He then went a step further by creating good light, a beauty brand that breaks free from gender stereotypes associated with skin care.
