Intelligent Beauty

a collection of Youth to the People products

Powered by superfoods, perfected by science. That’s what {Youth To The People} is all about. The much-adored brand prides itself on its carefully crafted formulas made from vitamin and antioxidant-rich leafy greens (think: spinach and kale) and other proven, natural sources of youth-preserving goodness. Basically, every formula is like a giant superfood smoothie for your skin!

Youth To The People was founded in California in 2015 by cousins Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes. The duo were inspired by the women in their lives – not least their grandmother Eva, who was a pioneer in pro-level skin care – and they set out to further their family’s legacy of innovation by developing plant-based formulas of unparalleled quality.

Plant based in more ways than one, every formula is cruelty-free and 100% vegan too, and it has earned itself a cult following among the vegan (and non-vegan) community!

Whether you’re new to the brand or you’re already obsessed and are looking for additional products to add to your {skin care} arsenal, here’s a detailed look at Youth To The People’s skin care offering, plus expert tips from Cult Concierge expert {Sarah} about how to use this eco-conscious, youth-preserving brand.

{Superfood Cleanser}

a smoothie for your face

Powerful enough to do away with {make up} and dirt but gentle enough to use twice daily to clear pores, Youth To The People’s Superfood Cleanser is like a fresh and nourishing smoothie for your face. Kale pumps skin with phytonutrients and vitamins C, E and K, spinach soothes and cools while encouraging moisture retention, and green tea acts as an anti-inflammatory while keeping your skin barrier healthy with essential fatty acids. A twice-daily dose of these good-for-you ingredients will have you feeling refreshed and ready to soak in all the goodness of your chosen {moisturiser}.

{Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm}

a make-up-melting masterpiece

Make melting stubborn make up and whipping away sunscreen and pore-clogging debris easy with this utterly dreamy cleansing balm. Its delicious cocktail of Chilean wineberry, prickly pear and hyaluronic acid are blended into a whipped and velvety texture that cocoons skin in omegas, antioxidants and humectants to hydrate, plump and prep your skin for the next steps in your skin care routine. Effortlessly melting even water-resistant formulas, it restores the skin barrier, doesn’t strip skin of its natural oils and works well with sensitive skin types.

You can use this cleansing balm alone, or as the first step of your double cleanse (try starting with this and following with the Superfood Cleanser).

{Superclay Purify + Clear Power Mask}

for a deep clean

Supercharged with 2% niacinamide, this triple-clay mask deep cleans and purges pores for clear, clam and happy skin that functions at its fullest potential. Boosted with exfoliating salicylic acid and balancing kombucha, this purifying creamy clay mask targets the root of skin issues, evens tone and absorbs excess oil that can trigger breakouts. All without disrupting your skin’s moisture barrier – hallelujah! Use 1-3 times a week after cleansing your skin with your preferred Youth To The People cleanser.

{Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial}

a deep clean for sensitive skin

Perfect for exfoliation for those with sensitive skin, this potent yet gentle facial helps to smooth and soften skin, without any unwanted irritation. This is a dual-action microdermabrasion facial, which breaks down dead skin cells with the active enzymes of papaya and pineapple, while smoothing your skin’s texture with bamboo and diatomaceous earth. The whole process is amplified by highly caffeinated yerba mate and guayusa. Use 1-3 times a week (starting with just once a week if you have sensitive skin).

 {Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant}

the multi-tasker

If you’re on the hunt for a multi-tasking treatment that tackles congestion, rough texture and uneven tone, all without compromising your skin barrier, then this is the product for you! With a water-light liquid texture, this leave-on exfoliant revitalises dull, lacklustre skin to reveal a radiant finish. How? 3% mandelic acid gently shifts dull surface skin cells; 2% salicylic acid works to unclog and minimise the look of pores; 1% gluconolactone (a poly hydroxy acid) boosts cell turnover and hydration; antioxidant-rich liquorice root helps to soothe skin and reduce excess sebum production and, finally, glucosamine (an amino-acid compound) hydrates and visibly fades the look of dark spots. And breathe!

{Kombucha +11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner}

a triple-action powerhouse

All aboard the kombucha train! This hardworking prebiotic isn’t just great for your insides, it also works to enhance your skin’s natural microbiome. Pair that with 8% lactic acid and 3% glycolic acid to smooth skin texture and minimise the appearance of pores, plus age-defying ginger extract to enhance the AHA blend’s ability to smooth skin texture, and what have you got? Minimised pores and visibly clearer, brighter and softer skin. Yes please!

{Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist}

for an on-the-go refresh

Think of this ultra-fine spray as a mid-day top-up of your favourite serum and moisturiser in one easy-to-use and fuss-free spritz. It hydrates, calms redness and evens the look of skin tone thanks to a blend of antioxidant-rich adaptogens, hyaluronic acid, and soothing peptides. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be reaching for it multiple times a day to reset and rebalance skin – trust us!

If youthful eye contours with diminished dark circles and reduced puffiness is what you dream of (and hello, who doesn’t!), then this is the eye-deal addition to your skin care arsenal. This first-of-its-kind clinical-grade 15% vitamin C serum is boosted with plant-derived caffeine from superleafs yerba mate and guayusa to enhance microcirculation and reduce that unwelcome morning puffiness while immediately brightening and hydrating your skin. But that’s not all. This powerhouse {serum} is also brimming with antioxidant-rich passion fruit, dragon fruit and squalane to help moisturise, impart weightless hydration and scavenge pollutants from the skin. This is glowy skin bottled.

{Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil}

for a glow like no other

This lightweight, fast-absorbing oil is a godsend for thirsty and dry skin. Harnessing the superpowers of squalane, prickly pear, maqui (the most antioxidant-dense fruit in the world), aaaa and goji, the formula feeds your skin with thirst-quenching goodness, so you can wave goodbye to a tight-feeling complexion. As well as hydrating, it plumps the look of fine lines, counters dullness and protects against free radicals. The cherry on top? The dewy, luminous finish it achieves is next level.

{Triple Peptide and Cactus Oasis Serum}

an oasis for desert-dry skin

Just as cacti are well adapted to extreme heat, this Youth To The People serum will help your skin adapt to your environment. Whether you’re exposed to cold weather, office AC or central heating, this potent serum will be a welcome oasis for your desert-dry skin. It’s loaded with minerals, peptides and nutrients that help your skin thrive by locking in moisture, stimulating collagen production and improving texture and tone. This hydrating hero gives new meaning to desert island skin care…

{Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream}

to pep-up tired skin

Combining the power of leafy-green superfoods with moisture magnet hyaluronic acid, Youth To The People’s best selling moisturiser works to restore, balance and condition dull and tired skin. It boasts a deliciously light, creamy, gel-like texture that absorbs quickly and looks great under make up. Speaking of delicious, it smells pretty tasty too, with a super fresh and herbaceous scent that you’ll love slathering on day and night. This has been formulated for all skin types, but it’s especially effective on combination and oily complexions

{Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream}

to get stressed out skin in check

Perfect for those who want to get stressed out skin in check, this ultra-soothing, fragrance-free moisturiser features a hydration trio – squalane, jojoba and shea butter – for deep and long-lasting hydration that won’t clog pores. The cream’s adaptogenic extract blend of ashwagandha and fermented reishi mushroom helps skin cope with dryness, irritation, redness, and fine lines and wrinkles, while calming peptides keep the skin’s response to environmental stress in check for a happy, healthy and balanced finish. This is the perfect moisturiser if you have dry, reactive and sensitive skin.

{Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask}

for overnight radiance

For skin as pillowy as a cloud and twice as dewy, this rich and creamy night mask is the ultimate moisture boost. It deeply hydrates, plumps and illuminates your skin while you sleep for a more even, youthful complexion come morning. It’s powered by squalane, hyaluronic acid, glycerin and betaine for ultimate hydration, plus antioxidant-rich superberries and THD ascorbate (an ultra-stable form of vitamin C). In short, it’s the recipe for visibly radiant skin!

{Dream Eye Cream}

a cushion for your contours

The skin care equivalent of a cushion for your contours, Dream Eye Cream floods your eye area with hydration and visibly smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with the help of gogi stem, hyaluronic acid and THD ascorbate (that ultra-stable form of vitamin C we mentioned earlier). It’s fragrance-free to be especially gentle on the delicate skin of your under-eyes. Apply it at night as the final step in your skin care routine, and wake up to a more youthful, well-rested-looking eye area.

{Superfood Hydrate + Firm Eye Cream}

combats dryness, puffiness and sagging

Night eye cream sorted, now for the daytime version! This small but mighty eye cream is fuelled by peptides and restorative vitamins to hydrate tired and puffy eyes. Peptides promote collagen production to diminish the look of fine lines and plump the skin, kale (with its vitamins C, E and K) protects skin from the elements, aloe soothes, cools and boosts moisture, and sunflower oil strengthens and cares for the skin barrier. This is a must-have if you suffer from dryness, puffiness or sagging.

Here are some tips from Cult Concierge expert Sarah for how to get the most out of your Youth To The People products:

  1. We generally advise to make small changes in your routine rather than changing your full ritual in one go. This gives your skin time to adapt to each new product to avoid sensitivity, and you can see what each formula does for your skin too, which helps to really customise and personalise your routine.
  2. It’s best to acclimatise your skin to new active treatments, such as vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs and exfoliators if you haven’t used these before. When introducing a new active product, start by introducing it just a few days a week or every other day depending on the product and your tolerance, and make sure that your skin has completely adjusted before adding another active.
  3. If you have sensitive or reactive skin, then try patch testing new products first before introducing them to your routine to see how your skin responds. You can do this by applying a small amount to your inner elbow or behind your ear and waiting 48 hours before adding them to your routine.
  4. With Youth To The People, you can follow the basic guideline of cleanser, treatment mask (a couple of times per week), toner and one serum, followed by eye cream and a moisturiser to suit your skin type. Don’t forget your SPF during the day! If you’re unsure about which order to apply your new Cult products or which treatments will work best for your skin then you can always reach out to our {Cult Concierge} team who will be happy to help with tailored suggestions.
