Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products at eye-wideningly reasonable prices. Anything but ordinary, this Pycnogenol 5% is a powerful antioxidant derived from the bark of French maritime pine trees that contains naturally-occurring procyanidins, bioflavonoids and organic acids that help maintain healthy levels of collagen and hyaluronic acid within the skin, resulting in enhanced hydration and elasticity.
Perfect for those wanting to enhance skin hydration and elasticity, The Ordinary’s Pycnogenol 5% binds to collagen and elastin, protecting them from free radical damage and enzymatic degradation. While doing so, this magical antioxidant also scavenges the skin for free radicals before they cause oxidative stress and has the ability to recycle oxidised Vitamin C, restoring its activity.
Apply alone or after water-based serums, before oils or heavier creams. Alternatively, mix with other treatments to enhance their antioxidant capacity.
The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5% is free of artificial colours. The formula’s deep red colour is due to the high procyanidin content in Pycnogenol. After application, please wash hands and avoid product contact with light coloured fabric as it may stain.
Propanediol, Pinus Pinaster Bark Extract.

Didn't really do much for my skin
I may have gotten this at a point when I was overcomplicating my skincare routine so I didn't see benefits in it, but it didn't do anything to worsen my skin
Report this reviewFascinating
I always use Survival 0 which I am very happy with, however I like to change sometimes so skin doesn't get used to the molecules from using the same thing over and over. I have started using Survival 30 for sunny days and this for evening routine. Texture takes a little while to get use to bc it gives a fake impression of greasy, but it's not the case, it goes quite quickly and then you are good to continue with moisturiser. A great discovery
Report this reviewhelps to brigthen skin
i mix this with NMF moisturizer for my face, and with bodylotion for neck and hands. Very easy way to boost skincare and prevent oxidative stress on the skin. have repurchased bc im happy with the results.
Report this reviewOne of the best serum
I bought this serum twice because it’s so good. it made my pigmentation disappear and my skin was so clear more than that it’s cheap so it’s really worth the price.Â
Report this reviewLove it!
I mix a couple of drops in my moisturiser which makes it go on really smoothly. I love the glow my skin then has all day. I really love it!
Report this reviewGreat product however…
So a very good product. You see results the next day and your skin glows. However after 4 days of use, my skin broke out in little pimples. So I’ve stopped using the product. May try after a few weeks again. Shame as it’s a good price point and delivers results.ÂÂ
Report this reviewBrilliant product!
I've used a lot of products from The Ordinary, and this is easily one of my favourites. It evens out my skin tone, plumps up my face, tightens my fine lines, reduces texture and seems to temporarily reduce the size of my pores, as well. I use it every third night, and the next morning my skin generally looks beautiful. Like other reviewers, I've found that the best way to apply pycnogenol is to mix it with my moisturiser. I put some creamy moisturiser (It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream) in my hand, add two drops of pycnogenol to it, mix the two together and then apply the mix to my face as the final step in my routine. I often apply a few drops of The Ordinary's Amino Acids + B5 or a retinoid beforehand. Those combinations seem to work very well for me. I highly recommend using the product this way.
Report this reviewMildly irritating
Sticky and warm on the skin. After 10 mins or so, I break out in a rash, which lasts for about an hour. It does leave my skin dewy and pores looking smaller though while it's still on my skin - so recommended for that. Do a spot test before slathering loads on before you head out!
Report this reviewMagic potion
One of the things I love about The Ordinary brand is the cutting edge R&D that goes into every product. This particular product is magic in a bottle. I’ve been using it as a serum every morning for the past week and My skin has never looked and felt better. Even my colleagues at the office commented about my radiant skin. Amazing!
