Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products – but the brand has outdone itself with this innovation. Ladies and gentlemen, meet your skin’s new best friend: vitamin C powder. Vitamin C has long been exalted for its brightening, skin-unifying, age-defying powers – but it’s often difficult to keep stable and effective. That’s why this ultra-fine powder is so good, as it provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of vitamin C topically. Expect a strong tingling (but non-irritating) sensation as your skin adjusts in the first 1-2 weeks.
As most skin care buffs will know, vitamin C is an effective antioxidant that brightens skin, evens out tone and reduces signs of ageing. A suspension of very fine L-Ascorbic Acid powder, this formula provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of vitamin C topically. This extremely effective method visibly targets the appearance of uneven skin tone, dullness and other hallmarks of ageing. The powder can be mixed with other treatments (except those containing niacinamide or EUK 134) so it will slot in perfectly to any ritual. With this format, a very strong tingling but non-irritating sensation is to be expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use while your skin’s tolerance to vitamin C is elevated.
Mix a small amount with other treatments in the palm of your hand and apply to face in the AM or the PM. A tingling sensation can be expected after application. Do not mix with formulations containing Niacinamide or EUK 134.
If topical Vitamin C is used as part of skin care, it should be applied at alternate times with EUK 134 or Niacinamide (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and EUK 134/Niacinamide in the AM). Otherwise, EUK 134/Niacinamide can affect the integrity of pure-form Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid).

Even skin tone
The spots on my face and unevenness has gone with continuous usage. I use it atleast 3 times per week mixed with my moisturiser. This has brought a significant brightness to my face.Â
Report this reviewLove it
Very potent as you can feel some slight stinging. Liquid Vitamin Cs decrease potency once the bottle opens. Easier to mix with thinner moisturisers.
Report this reviewAmazing product
Great product! Perfect as a boost of pure vitamin C to your mask or cream.
Report this reviewReally nice product
I love using this product mixed with the Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid and Drunk Elephant Protini moisturiser in the mornings. Need to find the right amount for your skin, and tangling at first is to be expected. But get the measurements right and it leaves skin feeling smooth and bright. A lot of product in the pot - I think it will last a long time! I love other more expensive Vitamin C products like Drunk Elephant C Firma serum, but this product feels strong and potent as well. Highly Recommend.ÂÂ
Report this reviewAllergy reaction!
I used to like The Ordinary. But I recently noticed that a few of their products caused me allergic reaction, including this one, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Areas around my mouth and eyes became painful, itchy, swollen and red. It took 2-3 days to get back to normal. I don't have allergy-prone skin and I have tried many different brands. This is the only brand and I am allergic to. I will not buy this brand anymore.
Report this reviewRequires some getting used to
I have been using L-ascorbic acid from the Ordinary for years. This is the first time trying the powder version. It did take some getting used to. It doesn't mix well with all creams, with thicker creams the powder doesn't dissolve and i end up with a granular layer on my skin. With a gel based day cream it works perfectly for me. It does sting on application but it doesn't irritate my skin. You do have to add an extra step to your routine (mixing the powder) every day but to me it's worth the effort because the product works great and one jar last a long time.
Report this reviewFab
I've been using this for just over a week now and I can see a huge difference in my skin. I haven't had any issues at all (except my hands have turned orange?). I have been using it alongside the Retinol 1% and they seem to be working really well together for my skin.
Report this reviewGreat product if used correctly
My favourite Vitamin C product so far! Must be careful not to use too much and also should not be mixed with certain products (such as acids, peptides, niacinamide, etc.). I prefer mixing it with The Ordinary's Natural Moisturising Factors cream or Squalane based granactive retinoids (right before using it, I mix it on my hand). Can also be mixed with water but I find that to be very messy. Should start using it at a small dose and once a week and increase it gradually (to avoid burns and such). It helps get rid of acne and also quite visibly brightens skin. I feel like I can see a difference immediately in the morning!
