Providing strong hold while creating some structure, Ruffians’ Matt Clay is hailed as the ‘new generation of clay’ – fulfilling your (long-lasting) styling requirements while retaining the flexible texture of softer pomades.

With no risk of flaking or crumbling, this game-changing clay is ‘remouldable’ – meaning it’s easy to change up your style as your fancy! Firm yet malleable, the hold it delivers is second-to-none – but you don’t get the stiffness or stickiness common to most other clays, thanks to kaolin’s creamy consistency. Olive and candelilla waxes then team up to nourish and thicken your hair, while extracts of organic seaweed provide some protection from sun and pollution – helping to shield from aggressors to keep your hair healthy. Plus, it’s made here in the UK (as with everything Ruffians) using vegan-friendly ingredients and without any sulphates or silicones.

Use on dry hair.

Take a pea sized amount of Ruffians Matt Clay and rub together in the palm of your hands. Work the product through the entirety of your hair – making sure you get an even distribution from front to back. Remember that less is more, start with a small amount of clay and add more if needed.

For maximum texture and a messier look, let the product do the styling for you. If you wanted the style a little sleeker, use a brush or comb.

Eight years and half a million haircuts later, the award-winning barbershop, Ruffians, has launched its eponymous grooming collection to mane-tain the manliest mops (but be warned: girlfriends, flatmates and sisters will pinch your prized products). A streamlined selection of six products packed with botanical, strand-strengthening ingredients – all of which have been thoroughly put through their paces – this range is this closest you’ll get to a trip to the Ruffians salon. Think: perfectly tousled or carefully styled with a generous dollop of confidence.
