Drying

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've tried A LOT of aha toners and essences and I thought I'd try this one as well, since it had such a good price tag. But my dry-ish skin didn't like it at all. I woke up dried up like a raisin, it dehydrated my skin badly, my fine lines were now full-on visible wrinkles which ment I had to up my game on hydration and moisture products after that. For me, doesn't worth the hassle so I'll pass it on to someone with oily skin I guess.

Feels like it could be good

I have difficulty caring for my 70yr old rosacea skin. With the added bonus of an under active Thyroid and Sjögrens Syndrome, dryness and sensitivity will always be a problem. I had tried most things from spot treatments and all sorts of face masks and scrubs and prescription medications, to facials…Nothing seemed to work and I had taken to just covering it all up in thick makeup. Which didn’t help and made it worse. Wearing cloth face masks also made it flare plus I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life on antibiotics. I had got to the stage of not wanting to be out and about any more. Decided that it was time to get back to basics and start again with some research, which eventually led me here. I carefully selected those products which might be of most benefit (a big thank you for all the honest reviews) crossed my fingers and waited to see if they could help. Well -  this is definitely one of them. The Ordinary range appealed initially because it was such a simple delivery system (droppers, etc) and the individual components were clearly identified for a specific reason - so helpful as it cuts out the marketing hype and pseudo scientific mumbo jumbo. I have now found a combination - in the morning: Inkey Hyaluronic Acid cleanser, then The Ordinary Glycolic acid toning solution followed by their Niacinamide 10% +Zinc 1%, finishing with Natural Moisturising Factors + HA; in the evening: as before but with added Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane - which in a few short weeks has given me the best skin in years. Keeping the skin clean and the moisture in seems to be what works. I will post an update if things change but fingers crossed (again) that it won’t be needed.

Wow - New Staple.

I can’t believe the difference in my skin after a month. Everyone keeps telling me how good my skin looks, my hairdresser is convinced I’ve had some “enhancements” - I haven’t. My skin is more radiant, less breakouts, fine lines almost ironed backs out and pores are officially MIA.I definitely think this is a huge benefit to those of us who are approaching 40 and upwards.

Sweet

My second time ordering this product, OMG 😱 I used it on my body to clear my dark spot I couldn’t believe how much I’ve spent my whole life trying to clear my skin. I’m a happy lady now with much clearer skin in a space of 3 weeks using it, I had to purchase more and continue on loving my self. I have gained self esteem and for the first time I know how it feels, The Ordinary creators and team thank you 🙏

Excellent toner for dry skin

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I thought this toner might be too strong for my dry and mature skin, but in actual fact, it's been great. Instead of stripping my skin, it actually moisturises it. In fact, it's so rich and moisturising that I suspect it's unsuitable for people with oily skin. My skin loves it, though. I use it once every three nights on days when I'm not using any peptides, retinoids or vitamin C products, and it seems to clear my pores, tighten my lines, reduce texture and add some brightness to my face.Word of warning: this product gets sticky and heavy if you use too much of it, so go in with a light hand. A little product suffices to get the promised effects. I also find it's much better to use it in the evening than in the morning.

it’s not bad but it didn’t work for my face, however it has many other uses. I use it as a deodorant and for that it works

Sticky sensation

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I don’t like the sticky sensation it leaves after you apply it. I’ve only used it twice and I still not get used to it so I don’t know if in the long term it makes a chance on your skin.

Quite disappointing.

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Being a skincare lover, I've tried various beauty products by “The Ordinary”, for example, salicylic acid masque, vitamin C suspension, etc. So far this glycolic acid toning solution has been the most disappointing one. While the look of the product and the packaging, as well as customer service, is really good, the product itself is quite useless and you need to be careful when applying it.     I've been using the toner for the past 8 months and while my cotton pad after every cleanse has been really dirty I haven't noticed any change in my skin's overall appearance. I have a little sensitive and mostly oily skin type. After using, my skin was always a bit red and very dry which was not helpful as it caused my skin to have breakouts. And stay away from this product if you have different skin allergies or super sensitive skin because even for me the toner caused some burning.     In my opinion, there are some hidden gems amongst many overly-hyped “The Ordinary” company products but this toner is not the one. You can get this product just to try it out but then consider ordering the smallest size available and don't expect quick results.     Overall, my experience with this toning solution was quite mediocre. I would suggest trying out other mid-priced alternatives that could bring better results.
