Looks Like a Beautyblender, Performs Like a Cheap Sponge
I am genuinely shocked by all the high reviews because I bought this hoping it would be a budget-friendly Beautyblender alternative… and that illusion disappeared after the first use. This is honestly one of the worst sponges I’ve used in years! First of all, it’s not soft. At all. A truly good sponge feels soft, bouncy, and blends foundation so seamlessly it almost feels effortless. This one feels hard and stiff, and applying foundation actually feels like work. Blending takes more effort, the finish looks more like makeup sitting on the skin rather than a smooth skin-like finish, and overall it’s just frustrating to use. Secondly, it also absorbs more product than better-quality sponges, so while the price may look attractive, you end up paying with wasted foundation. And the final red flag. After the very first wash, it already got a nail cut while squeezing it (and my nails aren’t even long!). That immediately made it feel low quality and not particularly durable. For me, a good sponge comes down to four things: softness + seamless blending + low product waste + durability. This one missed the mark on all of them.
