Founded in 1996 by the world-renowned make up artist, Laura Mercier is adored for its iconic formulas, ranging from complexion staples to skin care and even body care. One of its most legendary creations is the Translucent Loose Setting Powder (29g), a weightless hero that locks your make up in place and grants your skin with a natural, soft-focus finish.
Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder (29g) is a beauty staple that's pining for a spot in your cabinet (that's if it isn't already in there).
This silky-smooth formula locks your make up in place for long-lasting wear, without emphasising any uneven texture. Instead, it's finely milled consistency absorbs excess oil and shine for up to 24 hours while blurring the appearance of enlarged pores. As for the finish? It grants your complexion with an invisible, soft-matte look sans any photo flashback or oxidization (AKA it won't change the colour of your foundation). Plus, it's infused with antioxidant-rich vitamins (read: C and E) which promote a brighter, more nourished visage over time. Cue a night out without any touch-ups needed...

Not worth the hype
I had been wanting to try this for a long time due to so many people raving about it. I don’t get what all the fuss is about. Firstly it leaves my face looking slightly darker, somehow changing the shade of any foundation I have on. It also emphasises my pores and settles into fine lines making them so much worse. After about an hour of application my face gets shiny. Don’t get me wrong, the texture is nice but certainly not worth the price. I have a no7 powder that is so much better for half the price.

Nearly perfect
It would be hard for any product to live up to the insane hype this powder is getting. But it does a really good job overall and I would recommend it, if you can afford it. I don't use this one as an everyday powder, because of the price...

Overrated and leaves white cast
This product is overrated. Although it says translucent, it left a white cast on my face, even if you use a little bit, a white cast is still left behind. I’m a medium skin tone, nc35 and there are powders way better and cheaper than this one which are worth your money for example the revolution banana powder. I regret splurging on this.

Not the best
It’s an ok setting powder but I prefer the ones that don’t contain talc. It looks a bit dry on my skin and accentuates creases under my eyes.
