Well, the rounded end is designed for dusting finishing powder or swishing bronzer around the perimeters of your face (read: temples, hollows of cheeks and jaw). Whereas the tapered side is shaped to adorn apples and cheekbones with blusher and highlighter. Whether you're using a powder, cream or liquid formula, this sleek piece of equipment ensures a smooth, even finish, with a weighted metal handle that provides control and effortless blending.

Amazing for blush
So far I only tried it with my blush. Due to circumstances I also had to use it with my rare beauty liquid blush and the result was this nice very soft and diffused result. When I put this highlighting blush on top it created this stunning angelic glow. The brush itself is so soft and I’m definitely looking forward to using it for more than just blush.

Dense but very soft. The smaller brush is really good at picking up powder and targeted placements (like under the eyes) - my favourite at the moment. I feel like the other side would be really nice with liquids and creams as well but I can see why it's marketed as a tool to use with the Ambient Lighting line.

Amazing for cheek products
I bought it on a whim since I had the Hourglass veil powder brush (dual ended) and I loved it so much. But this one has been my staple brush to use daily since I got it. I use the "flatter end" side for powder bronzer and powder blush and the pointy side for powder highlighter. I tried to use it with cream highlighter and worked great as well but I don't use cream products often so I cannot share any opinion. It worked amazingly with any powder formula I have tried (hourglass or any other company) and diffuses the product very nicely. It hasn't shed any hair or being impacted in any way after washing multiple times. For reference, I have the other Hourglass brush for the last 2-3 years and use it daily, washing it twice a month and still feels as new so I believe this will be the same. A great investment, especially since you can multitask with it.
