The cream I want, but can't have
I bought this in hopes of getting a thick and soothing cream for my moisture-craving rosacea-prone skin. It's definitely not a lightweight cream. It feels very thick on my skin, which felt nice the first time. But with longer use, I found that it just didn't live up to its promise of deep hydration. It took me a while before I found the right amount (turns out a little goes a long way), but my skin couldn't absorb even a thin layer. In the heat, I had to reapply as I sweated everything off (making this better for winters or nights). It's also very heavily scented. And while the smell of rose is lovely, it felt quite agitating to my skin, even on days where I didn't have flare-ups. I wish this was my cream! With its thick consistency and rosy smell, it sounds like a nice relieve for sensitive and/or dry skin. But I guess it's a cream we crave, but don't need.

The texture is thick, like a cream, but there’s a gel like quality to it too. If you love the smell of rose then the new Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream is one for you. After a couple of days use I don’t feel I can really give a full review but as someone with combo and mature skin and fine lines what I can tell you is that it really does seem to keep skin well hydrated throughout the day.

Used to love it
This used to be my favorite perfect moisturizer a couple of years ago, but something must have changed in the formula. I started using the brand again, and liked the vitamin nectar cream, which was very good, then I had a travel size of lotus youth preserve cream, which was excellent. But since I love the smell of roses, and this is the least pricey moisturizer, I decided to get a big size of it. It is nothing like it used to be. My first impression is that it rather smells like ammonia, than rose. It has a thick consistency, but if I am not quick enough with the application, it starts rubbing off. It leaves a thick film on the surface of the skin. Definitely not good under foundation as it rubs off, could be okayish for the night if your are comfortable with the feeling of a sticky mask.
