Launched in 1994 by French make up artist and photographer François Nars, NARS has remained at the forefront of the beauty space with its collection of trend-led, high-performance covetable cosmetics (not to mention cheeky shade names too). Easy, Polished, Everyday Balm
It’s one of those easy, throw-it-in-your-bag products that just works. It feels genuinely comfortable and lightweight on my lips, hydrating without any stickiness or heaviness. Longevity isn’t great, but that’s expected for a balm. I usually don’t wear it on its own because I don’t love reapplying too often throughout the day. Instead, I fully fill in my lips with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk pencil first and apply the NARS balm on top. That gives the color more intensity and helps it last longer (though it still won’t survive a meal). I have the shade Dolce Vita, a sheer dusty rose. It gives a very natural “my lips but better” look that’s perfect for everyday wear. Overall, it’s a comfortable, effortless tinted balm, great if you want softness and ease, less so if you’re after intensity or long wear.
