What started as experimental candle-making in a Los Angeles kitchen has evolved into a world-coveted range of olfactory offerings that are so much more than their intriguing scents and effortlessly chic vessels. The brainchild of co-founders and real-life partners Matthew Herman and David Kien, Boy Smells’ inclusive ethos – one that rejects traditional gender norms and transcends the gender binary – means that their all-natural wax candles are made for anyone and everyone.
Vine leaves laced with dewdrops, vibrant oranges dotted proudly across a grove, flowering honeysuckle peeking out from the greenery — this Boy Smells GARDENER Candle captures all that and more. With a burn time of roughly 50 hours, this coconut and beeswax blend is held in a glossy black vessel that's punctuated with a clean-looking matte pink label - it'll look right at home wherever you deign to display it!
Interrogating the arbitrary reasons behind our associations with florals and femininity, musk and masculinity, these candles are proudly genderless. Sure, everyone has personal preferences but the minds behind Boy Smells stand by the fact that these originate from somewhere other than our gender – we love what we love, regardless of who we are. If you're keen to inject the spirit of the natural world into your sitting room, look no further; this candle has a green, supremely sunny scent that speaks of Italian gardens and vibrant blooms thanks to notes of tomato, petitgrain, white tea and drops of honeysuckle nectar.
Ignite, inhale, enjoy. Place in a central part of the room for optimum fragrance distribution.
Coconut and Beeswax blend with braided cotton wick, in glossy black glass tumbler.

Nice green smell though not my favourite
I love green smell. A lot. This does smell like a garden and the throw is really good. But I personally prefer sappy, leafy, grassy smell. If that's what you're looking for, this is not it.
Report this reviewUnique and refreshing smell
I was first on the fence on whether or not I liked it, but I grew to love it after burning it a couple of times. The mixed scent of tomato, melon and floral is refreshing and relaxing. I burn it not only during the day time but also at night.
