This Under-the-Radar Foundation is a Make Up Artist Must-Have

Oxygenetix Make Up Artist Foundation

Make up artist and industry expert {Liz Martins} discovered Oxygenetix by happy accident… and she’s fallen in foundation love. Read her glowing review…

“Having been a make up artist for the best part of 21 years I have been through a lot of foundations in my time – however, it would seem that I have stumbled upon the holy grail of bases; Oxygenetix {Oxygenating Foundation}!! No fancy bottle, very clinical looking but oh my gosh what a surprise – never judge a book by its cover.

The formulation is very light and a little – and I mean a little – goes a very long way; I literally needed one pump for my whole face. I used my fingers to apply it as I find that sponges often absorb most of the product – you can also use a buffing/foundation brush to ‘buff’ into the skin but personally, I think fingers work best for a seamless, ‘soft focus’ effect.

The finish is demi-dewy – really flawless – and you can also build it up if you need more coverage. I have a bit of scarring due to adult acne and this really made a difference. I normally have to use extra concealer to cover over the marks but with {Oxygenetix}, I felt this wasn’t necessary.

What I also found was that I didn’t need to use any setting powder; this grants a gorgeous, ‘real skin’ effect and I didn’t want to detract from that with powder. If you’re really prone to shine (or favour a totally matte look) then just use powder down the t-zone – across the forehead, sides of the nose and chin. I have a combination-to-oily skin type and found this really worked – if you have very dry skin you may need to ramp up your primer and moisturiser, to create a really good ‘scaffold’.

I have now read up on {Oxygenetix} – and how it came to be (which in itself is quite a story). Developed by a Hollywood surgeon for clients who wanted, but were unable, to use their usual make up post-surgery, this revolutionary base was formulated to stay put and last all day without flaking or caking.

I always like to put these things to the test myself – so I wore it all day through to the night, nothing… as in nothing had shifted. So far so good, so I decided to take things one step further and sleep in it – not something I would ever advocate but, in the name of research… And, the mind-boggling reality is that this brilliant foundation left no trace on my white pillow case. It really is that good.

I washed my face and my skin felt fine, no clogged pores, nothing – so I rest my case – my skin was actually able to ‘breathe’ underneath this veil of base.

To end this little blog post I shall just say that I have now ordered every shade and it shall be a firm fixture of my make up kit – this is truly nothing short of a miracle!”
