It’s September which means it’s nearly Christmas August Favourites time! It’s been a month of experimentation (a family holiday in the Northumbrian wilderness leaves lots of scope for face mask application) – in which I’ve reacquainted myself with old flames, and fallen for some new(ish) things I can’t believe I’ve been this long without…
Foreo’s {LUNA} still looks like a sex toy is phe-nom. It’s like you’re toothbrushing your face – except there aren’t any bristles – so everything feels sparkly and plumped and dewy. The serious divot that’s been creeping down the middle of my forehead, looks less obvious (no mean feat considering I give mean ‘resting b*tch face’). So if you don’t know where to find me, I’ll be vibrating my visage…
Su-Man’s {Purifying Cleansing Gel Oil} is good enough for Kylie… and is therefore good enough for me. An obsessive collector of cleansers, it’s taken me (too long) to catch on to this skin care jewel; heavenly scented and amazingly effective, its solid when you squeeze it from the tube so won’t drip on pyjamas (aaaargh), and melts all the make up whilst leaving skin comfortably cocooned. And the twisty lid might just be my favourite invention.
I loves me a face oil, and Caudalie’s {Polyphenol Overnight Detox Oil} is fantastic value for money (especially considering the liberality with which I use it). Applied to clean skin overnight, it ‘lovelies-up’ everything nicely come morning. I’ve also been adding a few drops to my day cream… and my foundation – to dewy things along a little.
I’m also addicted to lip balm, and panic if I don’t have at least five on my person at any given time (I might lose four and then where would I be?). Emma Hardie’s {Moringa and Rose Treatment Lip Balm} is glossy and conditioning, with a reassuring tingle (thanks peppermint)! I’ve been dousing my pout in its glory.
It’s been a while since I’ve been tempted by a new mascara, but Stila’s anniversary offering promised {Mile High Lashes}, and I wanted them. It’s got realz fancy-looking ‘v-shaped’ bristles (apt), and the formula is jet black and glossy (like a Louboutin). Mega-lengthening and rather posh, I’m in lash-love.
Aaaaand because my lazygirlconditioner ran out (Sachajuan’s {Leave In} option, if you’re interested), I’m expanding my hair care horizons with Living Proof’s {No Frizz} formula (similarly lazy). My hair drinks anything I slather on it, but so far so good with this, beautifully-housed mane-tamer. Less frizz, more manageability and far fewer detangling tantrums. Which is nice.
