The Up-and-Coming Beauty Brand Your Bathroom’s Missing

Never heard of {January Labs}? That’s all tipped to change… this up-and-coming West Coast range will totally transform your skin (without a single nasty).

Since THE SKIN CARE ORACLE (a.k.a. Caroline Hirons) first celebrated January’s {Balancing Lotion}, those-who-know have been beguiled by this brand’s understated style (and serious prowess).

Formulated using pure, predominantly plant-derived ingredients (the night cream contains lactic acid), this range ticks every skin care box. Affordable and efficacious, whilst catering to the demands of time-poor, stressed-out souls who have no scope for ten-step cleansing rituals, {January Labs} is completely deserving of its growing list of accolades.

For me, the heroes have to be the day cream, night cream and the toning mist (I never dreamed I’d *heart* a mist so much). When spritzed ahead of either moisturiser, {Restorative Tonic Mist} works to maximise the plumping and line-lessening effects; packed with sodium PCA – a powerful humectant that binds with hyaluronic acid to create a moisture ‘reservoir’ – alongside soothing aloe, blemish-battling witch hazel and nourishing rose oil, this helps to keep skin feeling dewy all day long.

The {Revitalizing Day Cream} has an ultra-lightweight texture – it’s more serum than cream – and has a slightly ‘funky’ smell; the side-effect of NO synthetic fragrances. If the way something smells is important to you, then you might want to try something else, but if you’d sooner use a cream that’s packed with the purest ingredients, un-hindered by unnecessary ‘extras’, this might just be ‘The One’.

And the {Retexturising Night Cream} does exactly as its name implies. Packed with lactic acid, this tingles upon application – acting like a nightly, skin-refining ‘peel’ so you wake up to baby smooth and glowing skin. It targets only dead skin cells, so it shouldn’t cause redness or flakiness (although you may see some around the nose initially, where skin is drier – but this should cease once skin becomes acclimatised).

January herself described it best when she said; “Think of day cream as the lover, night cream as the fighter”. The day cream is alkalising, while the night cream is acidic – soothing and protecting, then revitalising and invigorating in their turn.

The result is equilibrium – which equals happy, dewy, smooth and ‘glowy’ skin. I for one am SOLD. Will you be giving {January Labs} a try? Let us know in the comments below…
