Cult Beauty March Favourites

I have somehow made it through another winter without bankruptcy-by-boredom. There is something about cold weather and zero sunshine that makes ‘retail therapy’ a necessity – I’m re-branding it ‘buy to survive’ – and survive, I, have *pats self on back*. Here are some things I’ve been a-buyin’ and a-likin’.

Superficially frivolous – who actually needs cucumber-scented, perfectly-round green eye-ce cubes?? – you might ask. I DO, that’s who – as does anyone who’s accidentally wound up pie-eyed on a school night, only to WISH they had a freezer full of Peter Thomas Roth’s {Cucumber De-Tox} confections come hideous morning. Apply to each eye puffed-up eye to feel almost magically more human.

Still topping my lust-haves list is Aurelia’s {Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser}. The more religiously I use it, the more evangelical I feel about it. The texture is practically mousse-y – ultra-lightweight yet really readily absorbed, to leave my (oil-slick) visage feeling dewy and hydrated. And I really think it’s made a difference to my odd-spot problem – I’ve definitely suffered fewer breakouts, which can only EVER be a great thing.

And because I also have a thing for highlighters (my magpie tendencies are off the scale), I couldn’t resist Jouer’s {Luminizing Liquid Highlighter} in ‘Nude Light’ – which grants a golden gleam to cheekbones, brow- and exposed collarbones.

A self-confessed blush obsessive, there are two from BECCA vying for the lion share of heart-space. The {Beach Tint} leaves a lovely, lit-from-within stain and is ultra-long wearing, while the {Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé} is the aesthetically-blessed offspring of Beach Tint and {Shimmering Skin Perfector} – a beautiful pot of marbled pink and gold-toned gorgeousness. I die.

Oxygenetix {Oxygenating Foundation – Acne Control} blends virtually undetectably – unifying skin tone and disguising imperfections without suffocating or exacerbating oil. This is a miraculous marriage of weightlessness with coverage, so you look a bit ‘polished’ without feeling too ‘done’.

My mane is the bane of my existence. It’s a bit long and a bit fluffy and a bit too voluminous – which means I tend to leave it to its own devices (or fashion it into a rat’s nest raggedy top knot). A disciple of cult Sachajuan, their {Leave In Conditioner} is THE ONLY THING that makes hair-brushing less of a nightmare, and a few drops of {Shine Serum} smoothed through damp lengths lends a sleek, subtle gloss that tricks friends into thinking I’ve tried.
