Golden Globes ‘Best Beauty’ Awards

Although this year’s Golden Globes left us fashionably underwhelmed (and at times, truly horrified), one or two of the beauty looks prompted a sharp intake of (envious) breath (we mean you Sienna Miller). Here’s our cream of the beauty crop…

Golden Globes 2015 - Sienna Miller, Emma Stone, Felicity Jones

Could Sienna be more beautiful? Managing to make almost every other actress pale in comparison, Sienna’s honey-toned skin, flattering just-pink flush and neutral lip were the perfect accompaniments to her winning wardrobe. It was seemingly all about the side part, and SM’s glossy golden bob has made us all decide to lop our locks off… NOW. If you’re feeling pasty, try Studio 10’s {Plumping Blush Glow-Plexion} – its peachy pink shade makes a gorgeous, ‘warming’ base in winter, when bronze looks less believable. Apply all over face, decollete and shoulders, buffing with a brush to fake a ‘glow’.

Not that we’re obsessed with redheads or anything (er… we like, TOTALLY are), but its no coincidence that three of our line up are genuine (and two perhaps not-so) coopernobs. Ever-radiant Emma Stone paired her porcelain complexion with an on-trend ombré winged eye – choosing nearly-navy over black, to complement her russet crop. Studio 10’s {I-Lift Longwear Liner} in ‘Dusk’ is double-ended for über-easy gradation – just pair with a sheer, blue-toned red lipstick (we rate Julie Hewett’s {Lipstick Noir} in ‘Gem’).

Julianne Moore rocked her trademark nude-lipped/smoky-eyed look – the ultimate foil for her sequinned, ‘goth queen’ Givenchy gown *swoons*. She then softened the ‘edges’ with trademark, tumbling pre-Raphaelite tresses (and some seriously bling earrings).

And number three of our bevvy of ginger-haired beauties, Emily Blunt matched her eyeshadow to her eyebrows – as would we, if our brows were this damn faaaaaaaabulous. Anastasia Beverly Hills’ {DipBrow Pomade} is now available in ‘Caramel’ and ‘Auburn’ – warm-toned shades to flatter the spectrum of strawberry babes. And if you want to channel Ms. Blunt’s copper eyelid wash, try Sunday Riley’s {Prismasilk Eye Colour} in shades ‘Twig’ and ‘Fall Leaves’, blended with a fluffy {Shadow Brush}.

Golden Globes - Kate Mara, Julianne Moore, Emily Blunt

Kudos to Kate Mara for matching her belt with her blusher (or vice versa). Achingly cool as always, her sleek straight bob was tucked rakishly behind her ears, to showcase her faultless complexion. A smudge of brown liner, taupe shadow and lash-lengthening mascara were her only concessions to make up, besides a dewy flush of pastel peach – Stila’s {Convertible Color} in ‘Gerbera’ would work perfectly.

Felicity Jones managed to dazzle in spite of her matronly gown. She matched her dress to her eyeshadow in a stunning way (try Jouer Cosmetics’ {Long Wear Crème Mousse Eyeshadow} in ‘Twilight’), and finished with a hint of fresh pink lip tint.

Congrats to our winners (and all those who actually won awards). Who gets your vote in the style and beauty stakes? Let us know in the comments below.
