Get the Look with Tela Hair Organics

{Tela Hair Organics} founder Philip Pelusi went backstage at NYFW’s Venexiana show, to sculpt models’ hair into the intricate braided styles they wore to sashay down the Spring/Summer ’14 catwalk.

He talked us through this step-by-step guide to achieving the gorgeous look at home.

{STEP ONE}

To smooth, shine and add a shot of instant moisture, apply a coin-sized amount of Tela’s {Healer} to hands – rub palms together to emulsify, then glide evenly through hair.

Use a tail comb to create a centre parting, stopping when you reach the crown.

{STEP TWO}

Section a triangle around the crown of the head and secure with a hair band.

{STEP THREE}

On each side of the head, create a twisted rope braid, from the temple to the corners of the back hairline – secure both ends, together with the central section, tightly at the nape with a snag-free band.

{STEP FOUR}

Extract a few strands of hair (about 3/4s of an inch) from the underside of the ponytail, and twist round the band to disguise it. Secure with a kirby grip

{STEP FIVE}

Section the ponytail and plait into a simple, three-strand braid. Keep going ’til you reach the very ends of the hair, then tuck underneath and secure at the nape

{TIP}

To add definition to sections and grant fresh, moveable control, Philip and his team used Tela’s {Dri-Shampoo} as needed throughout the creation of this stunning look.
