In it for the long haul…

Lynn Taylor 312x312Cult Beauty expert and celebrated Make Up Artist Lynn Taylor, divides her time and talent between London and LA where she works with the unfailingly beautiful likes of Katie Holmes, Charlize Theron, Amber Valetta and Ashton Kutcher (swoon). Here, she shares her tips and tricks for surviving the dreaded long haul (praise be)!

—————————————- {Lynn’s Top Tips} ——

I recently boarded my Air New Zealand flight, bound from LA to London with trepidation, dreading the ten-hour-forty-minute flight. Fortunately I got to experience Premium Economy. It was wonderfully roomy, so I kicked off my heels and stretched out my legs – definitely a step towards beating the jet-lag blues.

But as wonderful as Premium Economy is, it doesn’t do much in the way of keeping at bay the effects of 10+ hours on a plane. There are however, some things that can (and do).

1. Prior to my flight I used Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Glow Pads – they grant skin a wonderful, gradual sun-kissed glow and are perfect if you’ve been too busy to catch some rays, or if like me, you’re always ensconced in a large floppy hat or armed with a parasol to prevent the development of dreaded sun spots

Liquid Gold Rejuvenating2.During the flight, I slather on Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream to combat dehydration. Apply several times during your flight, patting gently into the skin (no rubbing!) to help reinvigorate and nourish tired skin. It gives an almost instant ‘wow’ factor, so you step off the plane looking healthy and luminous (even if you didn’t eat your in-flight greens).

3. I always pop a small bottle of Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray in my carry-on and love spraying over my face and décolletage (my seat mate also got the benefit of this freshening mist…). This cult classic is wonderful for reviving your skin (and your senses) throughout the flight, and is a beauty essential that’s especially good for helping you dive into the first day of your holiday

FS London Blush

4. Just before landing, pop a little Crème Blush from Face Stockholm in ‘London’ – a fresh, soft pink colour – onto the apples of your cheeks, patting gently with your fingertips. Then perk up tired peepers with 3 Custom Color’s flesh-toned Clarifying Pencil, using it to line the inner rim of both upper and lower lids (turbulence and capable pilot permitting)! You’ll arrive in arrivals looking fresh faced and wide awake… even when you’re anything but.

5. And just in case, pack the fabulous Faust’s Potions – they’re magic (and there’s no white rabbit in sight). The healthy alternative to a restorative Bloody Mary when you’ve overindulged on the in-flight hospitality, these brilliant vials really do take the edge off a hangover and are bursting with ‘good stuff’ to boost energy levels and put a much-needed spring back into your step
