Meet The Team: Dimitra
Our Digital Designer Dimitra is a bona fide BABE in all respects - as well as heading up our visual department, she also speaks *a gazillion* languages, is the owner of some bangin' brows and introduced us to designer childrenswear (hello Kenzo sweatshirts for 16 year olds #winning). She's also a walking gospel when it comes to cosmetic ingredients, favouring 'all natural', organic products over their synthetic siblings. Here she tells us which Cult Beauty buys she swears by
What Does Cold Pressed Even Mean?
In which we demystify some of the organic beauty industry's most baffling buzzwords.
The All-Natural Skin Care Sensation You Need In Your Life
We are SO excited to usher all-natural Australian brand {Grown Alchemist} into our Cult Beauty 'hall of fame'! Creators of supercharged, organic skin (and body!) care have-to-haves, we caught up with brand founders Keston and Jeremy, to learn a little more about the alchemists behind this stand-out range.
Odacité - Skin Care Boosters
There's been a lot of buzz surrounding 'boosters' - supplements to supercharge your daily skin care regimen, and address the fluctuating needs of your complexion as the weather/temperature/your hormones provoke havoc. Intensive concentrates, the premise is simple; apply 2-3 drops of your chosen elixir to slightly damp, just-cleansed skin - or mix with your daily hydrator - to make sure your cells receive the nutrients they need to work effectively. You can become your own skin care alchemist - blending and experimenting to devise the perfect cocktail for your skin type. Cowabunga! (Sorry... too much beauty-thusiasm)...
Meet the Founder: Emma Hardie
World-renowned facialist and Cult Beauty expert, Emma Hardie set the beauty world a-buzz way back in 1996, with her signature 'Natural Lift and Sculpting Facial' - a way of massaging and 'kneading' the face to help maintain its strength and resilience. Celebrities, beauty editors and the skin care-savvy flocked in their droves to her swish Mayfair clinic (and continue to do so), to benefit from her unique technique. And now, with the launch of Emma Hardie Amazing Face, you too can emulate the EH method at home; the small (but perfectly formed) capsule collection of multi-use products - together with Emma's prescribed application - will help restore skin's former strength, luminosity and lustre. So go get your glow on...
Why are parabens bad?
Where once our Elizabethan counterparts spent their days fretting about whether "to be or not to be", our contemporary selves are plagued with far less existential concerns. To text or not to text. Tweet or not to tweet. Buy, or not to buy? And, the one that the beauty industry has had a furrow in its' forehead about for some time now; should parabens be used as preservatives in cosmetics? To paraBEn or not to paraBEn. That is the question.
