Get Emma Stone’s Party-Perfect Make Up Look

Although a classic red lip feels very festive, we think Emma’s shocking fuchsia makes a playful, ‘demands-attention’ alternative – perfect for the party season (and easy-as-pie to achieve).

Skin must be prepped to perfection – a bright lip is ideal for detracting from a forehead spot, but if your complexion is uneven or you’ve got a blemish near(ish) your mouth, then bold lipstick can make it ‘pop’ (poor phraseology, sorry!). Emma’s satin lip needs balanced by a flawlessly velveteen base – Jouer Cosmetics’ {Matte Moisture Tint} provides buildable, semi-matte coverage that is barely detectable when ‘buffed in’ with a {Foundation Brush}, for your-skin-but-better effect.

Use AmazingCosmetics {AmazingConcealer Illuminate} to disguise any blemishes, apply the merest hint of blush to cheeks (we like Rituel de Fille’s {Inner Glow Cream Blush} in ‘Rapture’) then set everything in place with a light dusting of Charlotte Tilbury {Airbrush Flawless Finish}.

Brows need ‘filled in’ and combed neatly – as usual, it’s Anastasia Beverly Hills’ double-ended {Brow Wiz} to the w-escue – then eyes are defined with a hint of neutral shimmer shadow, a subtle (but pitch black) feline flick and lashings of lengthening {Mascara} applied to top and bottom lashes. NudeStix {Magnetic Eye Colour Pencil} in ‘Lilith’ makes for effortless, all-over eye enhancement, and Stila Cosmetics’ {Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner} has the ultimate precision nib for easy-access to the lash line.

‘Tightlining’ the upper, inner lid will instantly make lashes look more luscious – use a soft kohl such as Studio 10’s {I-Lift Longwear Liner} in ‘Pewter’, then use the corresponding peach-toned end to line the waterline for wide-eyed, Bambi-esque effect.

Lips must be perfectly smooth – buff them (gently!!) with a toothbrush to eliminate scales and stimulate circulation – then apply a matte, easily absorbed balm (Kaplan MD’s {Lip 20} is ideal) around half an hour before lip colour, to ensure your pout if perfectly hydrated.

Lipstick-wise, we love Charlotte Tilbury {Hot Lips} in ‘Electric Poppy’ – a stunning, opalescent blue-pink – or Huda Beauty’s {Liquid Matte} in ‘Video Star’ – a smokin’ hot magenta that’s completely kiss-resistant. And if you like a hint of shimmer, Jouer’s {Long-Wear Lip Crème} in ‘Dahlia’ is a gorgeous, glimmering, high-impact metallic.
