Blinking Beautiful: Paperself Eyelashes

I stumbled upon these incredible eyelashes yesterday and had to share them! They are unlike anything I have ever seen, and when I delved deeper, I loved them even more. The delicate paper eyelashes are the newest addition to PAPERSELF, a wonderfully unique company whose purpose is to explore and develop contemporary products out of paper. As well as eyelashes they have launched lighting, wallpaper and transformer tables. The beauty of their philosphy is that their products are creative and unique in an eco-friendly way (something very close to my heart). The founder of PAPERSELF, Chunwei Liao, has united artists, designers and manufacturers from the East to the West to create these exceptional designs.

Being a beauty fanatic, the eyelashes are of course my favourite items. I love that they are inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting, and have found a dynamic and ingenious use of paper. The lashes themselves are intricately cut and delicately pretty, there are 6 styles, each infused with symbolic meanings rooted in Chinese culture. These include horses (symbolic of success), peony (for happiness and good fortune), peach blossom (a symbol of love and romance), deer and butterfly (free, beautiful and sensitive), peacock (auspicious and lucky) and clown (to bring happiness). Every design comes in 2 sizes. The smaller corner lashes are perfect for accentuating the corners of your eyes making them appear bigger and more feline and the full lashes are great to wear for a night out, they will certainly make a statement! Cult Beauty loves the peacock lashes…..which are your favourites? nadine bourne
