The bed of nails has been used by Indian mystics for centuries in the practice of healing and meditation and now it's been re-invented with a Scandinavian twist to give you a whole range of benefits, from soothing sleeplessness and easing stress to helping you re-balance after a long haul flight, alleviating aches and pains and even reducing the appearance of cellulite (the spikes help the body rid itself of toxins and increase blood flow, to assist the breakdown of stubborn fat groupings). It's also brilliant for easing neck and back pain, and can even have a positive impact on your complexion!
Far from being a scary instrument of torture, this Bed of Nails can have a rapid impact on those nagging aches and pains and help you get a heavenly night's sleep. The makers have cleverly combined Eastern wisdom with Scandinavian modernity to create a funky-looking acupressure mat that alleviates tension, stress and stubborn twinges - helping you to unwind, clear your mind and to feel more nimble. More than 8,800 non-toxic plastic spikes are arranged on the mat and work in a similar way to acupuncture needles, helping release endorphins (the body's own 'happiness' drug) and oyxtocin, to help you stay calm and relaxed.
Lay the Bed of Nails on the floor or on a mattress and slowly lower yourself onto it. Beginners should wear a light T-shirt or lay a sheet over the mat until your body and skin get used to the spikes. Initially lie on the Bed of Nails for 10 - 15 mins, and as you get used to the pressure you can build up to 20 - 30 mins.
Use as often as you need - preferably daily. Don't be alarmed if your skin stings a bit or feels warm and tingly, and it's perfectly safe to fall asleep for a while on the mat.
Leaning against it (rather than laying on top of the mat and pillow) is a lighter way to use Bed of Nails while you acclimatise (you put less weight on the spikes when you do). Place the mat/pillow at the back of your sofa, bed or armchair to experience the benefits while building up your tolerance.
The nails are made of 100% recycled non-toxic ABS plastic, the textile is cotton. The Bed of Nails should not be used in case of skin disease, haemophilia or the intake of anticoagulants.

Marvelous product
My husband cannot live without this. He has severe back pain and this helps him tremendously with alleviating the pain.
Report this reviewRelief of back!
Ideal especially after workout to rest your back and feel fresh again!
Report this reviewlovely and relaxing torture
Bough this as present for my husband (including the pillow). Was not quite sure what to expect despite all reviews. The mat itself is not very big (enough to cover your back only). Is nicely made and the plastic needles look solid and properly pinned. First uses may be a bit tricky till you get used to it... mainly sitting and standing up when you have to use body pressure in a concentrated spot. It feels a bit itchy but after few minutes gets natural... to the point you can easily fall asleep on it. I think in the end even making the time to sit on it and do nothing meanwhile (=taking a break for yourself) is helpful. Nice item to have around.

It is light, good for relax, after 3-5 min I fell asleep on it. I had use it directly on skin. Recommended for sensitive people or for hot summer. I think "white lotus" is for two point sharper.

My best friend! I love this carpet for the back and lower back, it is my savior... perfect for bare skin for at least half an hour. Ideal as a gift!

I love this. I use it whenever I’ve got back or shoulder aches. When I broke my foot and was getting tired of sitting in an armchair in the same position, always having to keep my foot raised. I lined the chair with this and it got my blood flowing again. It was instant relief. I only wish they made different degrees of hardness, as sometimes it doesn’t feel like the “nails” dig in enough :)
Report this reviewReally good against my cellulite
The mat is smaller than I thought, but because of that it is perfect to use it in a lot of diferent positions. It is not pain what you feel but pressure, in the right spots. It does not hurt but you need to get used to it. It feel great afterwards. I usually lie on it while reading a book. My next purchase will be the pillow. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this mat. Yes, it does hurt for the first few minutes of you lying down. Yes, it does hurt to get off the mat. But oh my does it feel great afterwards. I usually lie on it for about 20 mins, but sometimes I even fall asleep on it for about an hour. I also have the pillow, which is a perfect addition and it feels so good. Highly recommend!
Report this reviewAmazing!
The first time I used it, I thought it was horrible. It felt as if I had skin lesions all over my back. Tried again, and really tried to not move on it, almost just roll onto it and stay! And then it was amazing. It really helps! It have used it for chronic back pain, chronic pain in my legs, and even menstrual cramps. And it actually works!
