An opulent and warm fragrance, Mortel opens with woody cistus and rich incense before opening out with subtly spicy black pepper, frankincense and myrrh. Inspired by scents of musket powder and leather riding gear (think the streets of Paris in the late 18th century) Révolution features the musky, sweet and spicy aroma of patchouli and woody cade, mingled with a base of smoky cedar to ensure that it lingers on the skin beautifully. Named after the Latin for ‘once’, Olim recalls the evolution of royal power in France and captures the ‘vanity and emotion of the royal era’. Each ingredient is handpicked to evoke decadence and opulence, opening with spicy notes of bergamot and anise and anchored by rich patchouli, benzoin, myrrh and musk. Described as having a ‘distinguished, almost animal-like sensuality’, Bruma is enlivened with fresh, violet-like iris and aromatic galbanum, mingled with depths of rich, dark leather and earthy vetiver for a lingering, subtly smoky base. Finally, Deux is reminiscent of new beginnings and evergreen forests, blending notes of pine and green leaves with rich, aromatic juniper, ambroxan and cashmeran.
