Davines VOLU Shampoo Bar 100g
Founded in Parma in 1983 by the Bolatti family, Davines evolved from a research laboratory for high-end hair care into its very-own line of original, sustainable and mindful formulas. Bringing some Italian style to your shower, this quirkily cool range of cleansers, conditioners, treatments and masks will take you on a trip to hair care heaven. Just when we thought we couldn't love the range more, they've now released a line of shampoo bars: plastic-free alternatives that are great for gently cleansing an array of hair types.
Forget everything you know about shampoo bars... An extension of their fan-favourite shampoo line, Davines' Solid Shampoo Bars boast a solid texture that develops into a rich creamy foam that cleanses without stripping your strands. Suited to fine, limp lengths, the VOLU Naked Shampoo is enriched with turnip root extract to promote enviable body, shine and softness.
Compact like a soap bar, these salon-quality shampoo bars are packaged in 100% recyclable paper (you're helping to cut down single-use plastics!) and boast the same results that you would see from using their traditional shampoos. Infused with strand-loving actives from Slow Food Presidia farms (an organisation that safeguards biodiversity in Italy), each shampoo contains up to 97.4% of highly biodegradable ingredients — so after rinsing, most of them degrade within 28 days! Hair: voluminous. Mood: virtuous.
Wet the shampoo bar with water, rub it between hands to create a lather and apply it to wet hair. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary. Proceed with a conditioner, if desired. Rinse thoroughly in case of eye contact.

Not impressed
I love a shampoo bar and have tried a lot of different types. I bought this one as a treat because it is a bit more expensive than the ones I usually get. I was so disappointed. The bar disappeared very quickly, and after a very short time it began to disintegrate and started to break apart in shards which were then stuck in my hair. This felt wasteful and meant the bar didn't last as long as they suggest it might. On a positive note, it smells lovely, and my hair was in good condition. But it definitely needs some improvement in consistency and longevity!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this product. It's far better than some of the cheaper alternatives I've tried. It smells nice, it's easy to create a lather for your hair with it and it left my hair in good condition. It's a bit pricey, but I would definitely buy it again.
