Like a guard dog for your face, the Guard's Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 offers protection against pollution, blue light and the sun – all without harming marine life or leaving a chalky residue. Pumped with kind-to-skin, plant-derived ingredients to add moisture and soothe, this UVA- and UVB-ray defender ensures skin is left looking plump, supple and smooth with a natural dewy-matte hybrid finish.
Shielding you from much more than just the sun, the Guard's Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 protects you on all fronts – from environmental pollution, electronic pollution (because TikTok is a time-stealing vortex) and the sun.
Offering its services without a trace of chalkiness or white cast, this creamy and lightweight formula delivers a natural finish that looks neither too dewy nor too matte. Oil free and powered by 15.2% non-nano zinc oxide, (which is the safest SPF active available as it won’t penetrate the epidermis or harm marine wildlife), this formula works on the skin’s surface to physically prevent rays from penetrating. Broad-spectrum protection (that’s protection against UVA and UVB rays, FYI) joins an array of antioxidants in safeguarding you from blue light, and amino acid-rich sea fennel extract boosts your elastin levels to firm and add bounce. Plus, moringa seed extract boasts vitamin C and encourages the production of collagen, and aloe leaf extract attracts and retains moisture while soothing skin.
HOW: Gently smooth an even, generous layer (about the size of a coin) onto skin. Because mineral SPF acts as a barrier, sitting on the surface of the skin, do smooth it on—don’t rub it in the way you would a moisturizer. Use a light touch with this and any products you apply after to avoid makeup pilling.
WHERE: Face and neck. Bonus points for hands—after your eyes, hands are the number two spot that gives away age.
WHEN: AM (every AM), after your moisturizer has fully absorbed into your skin. If wearing makeup, allow 2-3 minutes for the sunscreen to sink in before applying primer or other cosmetics. Reapply every 2 hours when in direct sunlight or getting wet.
GOOD TO KNOW: Even though mineral sunscreen goes to work right away, we recommend following the FDA guidelines to wait 15 minutes before sun exposure. And remember: No sunscreen is a replacement for staying out of the sun. Use before the expiration date printed on the crimp on the tube.

insanely greasy, has a white cast and irritates my skin
I saw some reviews saying it doesn’t leave a white cast but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It takes 5 minutes to get an even application and even then, it has such a strong white cast. It’s also super thick and greasy and makes my skin feel suffocated. It also has a weird grainy texture so it stings my skin even after application. Applying powder on top makes it worse because it just looks patchy. For the protection you’re getting and the price point, it’s a no from me. For reference, my skin tone is deep and my skin type is normal.Â
Report this reviewMaybe the best sunscreen I've ever tried
I'm a pale asian with Fitzpatrick type 2. I've tried tons of sunscreen but there's always problem: some of them contain simple alcohols and fragrances that makes me itchy, some of them sting my eyes, some of them are too oily, some of them have wrong colors to my skin... But this versed sunscreen is amazing. The color fits my skin so well just like disappeared. The formula also doesn't sting my eyes or irritate my sensitive skin. And it's a liquid with light texture. But I don't know if it's comedogenic to me or not (even some light textured sunscreen I tried before breaks me out). I will continue using it for weeks to confirm.
Report this reviewNever dries down
The Versed Guard's Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen SPF35 seemed just what I wanted: a slightly tinted mineral SPF suited for the fairest of skintones. However, I was sorely disappointed on the formula, which never dried on my skin. Throughout the day it felt tacky and gross, and all I wanted to do is wipe it off. As a sunscreen, it seems to work fine and the colour is great on my ultrafair Scandi-skin, but sorry, no can do!
Report this reviewLightweight and does the job
This doesn't feel like it's clogging up my skin like most mineral sunscreens feel. Enjoyed it
Report this reviewGreat mineral sunscreen
This has a light texture and doesn't make you sweat after application. It also doesn't leave a white cast which is rare with mineral sunscreens...and I'm a medium-tan skin tone so I'm impressed!
Report this reviewUse Everyday
I love this, I reach to use it every morning as it is just simplistic. leaves no white cast on my olive skin and functions well under make-up. The product itself is great, but I have seen it leave a cast of sort on my friends with darker skin which for an SPF product I think it needs to be accessible to all.ÂÂ
Report this reviewGreat once I figured out the best application
Overall love this. Really lovely smooth creamy texture, no white cast as its tinted (but only slightly), great ingredients, no issues wearing under makeup, not heavy or greasy on the skin, not super cheap but a good price point. I now use this as my everyday sunscreen. However when I initially started using this I didn't like the end result as it would flake and leave streaks (for lack of a better word) so you could see it sitting on the skin. I discarded it for a week or so then went back to it and once I got the application technique sorted, I was thrilled with the purchase. You just have to really really work it into the skin with lots of circular motions. It doesn't dry super quickly so you have time to do this. I have already re-purchased in anticipation of the first tube running out
Report this reviewNot good
I ordinarily love versed, I think they have great products but I just can't get this sunscreen to work for me. It pills like no other sunscreen ive ever used, even without putting on make up over it. The feeling of it is kind of sticky/tacky and looks sort of pale and oily? It just does nothing good for me. Will not repurchase, sorry versed!
