Best Mineral Sunscreen & Makeup Base Ever
5I never use a primer. I don’t want to add another product to my face and I don't have the kind of life where I have to look perfect all the time ☺️ But after a few minutes in the sun I am pink, and it gets worse from there. Plus chemical sunscreens literally don't work on me at all, so I absolutely need a Mineral one. My first day using this one I found myself on a beach walk at a friends, hatless, and I wasn't at all pink or red upon our return! Last Summer I used Summer Fridays' version, and I didn't like the smell nor the consistency or color so I thought I would go for high review scores and value with this one and now I am going to get a back up! Not only does it apply like a dream with no shine or odor, the teeny bit of neutral color suits my skin and it is a fantastic base for the scant foundation I apply to just my areas of concern. Bravo!
Report this reviewNever dries down, too greasy
2Very disappointed, but to be fair I didn't look properly into the ingredients list. If I had I would have skipped this one as it has butyloctyl salycilate which is used so often in many so-called all mineral sunscreens these days, and I've noticed whenever this ingredient is present I never like the product as it makes the sunscreen to be one of those that never dries down and sits on top of your skin forever. I cannot stand that.
Report this reviewNice formula, no white cast
4Nice formula, spreads easily, leaves no white cast. I have dry skin and sometimes when I wear it, at the end of the day, I feel my skin needs extra hidration.
Report this reviewinsanely greasy, has a white cast and irritates my skin
1I saw some reviews saying it doesn’t leave a white cast but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It takes 5 minutes to get an even application and even then, it has such a strong white cast. It’s also super thick and greasy and makes my skin feel suffocated. It also has a weird grainy texture so it stings my skin even after application. Applying powder on top makes it worse because it just looks patchy. For the protection you’re getting and the price point, it’s a no from me. For reference, my skin tone is deep and my skin type is normal.
Report this reviewMaybe the best sunscreen I've ever tried
5I'm a pale asian with Fitzpatrick type 2. I've tried tons of sunscreen but there's always problem: some of them contain simple alcohols and fragrances that makes me itchy, some of them sting my eyes, some of them are too oily, some of them have wrong colors to my skin... But this versed sunscreen is amazing. The color fits my skin so well just like disappeared. The formula also doesn't sting my eyes or irritate my sensitive skin. And it's a liquid with light texture. But I don't know if it's comedogenic to me or not (even some light textured sunscreen I tried before breaks me out). I will continue using it for weeks to confirm.
Report this reviewNever dries down
2The Versed Guard's Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen SPF35 seemed just what I wanted: a slightly tinted mineral SPF suited for the fairest of skintones. However, I was sorely disappointed on the formula, which never dried on my skin. Throughout the day it felt tacky and gross, and all I wanted to do is wipe it off. As a sunscreen, it seems to work fine and the colour is great on my ultrafair Scandi-skin, but sorry, no can do!
Report this reviewLightweight and does the job
5This doesn't feel like it's clogging up my skin like most mineral sunscreens feel. Enjoyed it
Report this reviewGreat mineral sunscreen
5This has a light texture and doesn't make you sweat after application. It also doesn't leave a white cast which is rare with mineral sunscreens...and I'm a medium-tan skin tone so I'm impressed!
Report this reviewUse Everyday
4I love this, I reach to use it every morning as it is just simplistic. leaves no white cast on my olive skin and functions well under make-up. The product itself is great, but I have seen it leave a cast of sort on my friends with darker skin which for an SPF product I think it needs to be accessible to all.Â
Report this reviewGreat once I figured out the best application
5Overall love this. Really lovely smooth creamy texture, no white cast as its tinted (but only slightly), great ingredients, no issues wearing under makeup, not heavy or greasy on the skin, not super cheap but a good price point. I now use this as my everyday sunscreen. However when I initially started using this I didn't like the end result as it would flake and leave streaks (for lack of a better word) so you could see it sitting on the skin. I discarded it for a week or so then went back to it and once I got the application technique sorted, I was thrilled with the purchase. You just have to really really work it into the skin with lots of circular motions. It doesn't dry super quickly so you have time to do this. I have already re-purchased in anticipation of the first tube running out
