Eight years and half a million haircuts later, the award-winning barbershop, Ruffians, has launched its eponymous grooming collection to mane-tain the manliest mops (but be warned: girlfriends, flatmates and sisters will pinch your prized products). A streamlined selection of six products packed with botanical, strand-strengthening ingredients – all of which have been thoroughly put through their paces – this range is this closest you’ll get to a trip to the Ruffians salon. Think: perfectly tousled or carefully styled with a generous dollop of confidence.
A versatile jar that will quickly become an essential, Ruffians’ Styling Paste works to add volume or ‘sharpen’ your look – whether you want to look artfully tousled or seamlessly slick.
Totally customisable – you’re in control of the outcome – this flexible paste is a moveable must-have, allowing no-end of adjustments until you achieve the desired effect. Less about hold than creating the sexy suggestion of just-ruffled hair (oh là là !), start small and work your way up to establish a perfectly ‘piecey’ aesthetic. With candelilla wax and lanolin to give a moisture boost, alongside antioxidant-rich herbal hops to condition and optimise shine, you won’t find a sulphate or silicone here, and – as with everything Ruffians – it’s rustled up here in the UK.
Depending on what look you’re going for, Styling Paste can be applied to wet or dry hair. Apply to dry hair for a messy, textured but styled look and apply to wet hair for a more slicked back style.
Take a pea sized amount and rub together in the palm of your hands. Work the product through the entirety of your hair – making sure you get an even distribution from front to back.
For maximum texture and a messier look, let the product do the styling for you, just use your fingers to get your desired part and to decide where you want the hair to sit.
For even more texture – use Ruffians' Marine Spray in towel-dried hair before blow drying or use Ruffians Hair Powder once the hair is completely dry, then apply the Ruffians Styling Paste.
For a sleeker, more controlled look – use a little Ruffians' Hair Cream in towel dried hair before blow drying, using a brush or comb to smooth and shape the hair. Then apply the Ruffians Styling Paste, again using a brush or comb to shape the final look.

Works better if you heat the paste up first via the hair dryer or between your hands. Otherwise it’s clumpy…DisappointingÂÂ

This is such good value for money- a little bit goes a long way and really good hold, doesn’t go flakey really really like this stuff!
