It does brighten - but have patience.

I only have a few tiny dark spots on my cheeks so I mainly bought this serum for the brightening effect. With this serum you have to commit to it for at least a month to see results. After consistent use for months my skin seems brighter and more uniform in color – but my tiny dark spots are still there (so if you primarily want the serum to minimize your dark spots, you will be disappointed). The packaging is not the greatest though - the pump will stop pumping after only half the bottle has been used.
