Great fragrance free shampoo
5 out of 5 stars
I've recently started using shampoos with sulphates in them again as my hair was becoming over moisturised. My scalp can get both really dry and greasy with a lot of itchiness and flaking if it doesn't like the shampoo I'm using. So far I really like this shampoo, it hasn't dried the life out of my hair and I love that it's fragrance free as fragrance especially essential oils really irritate my scalp. It lathers up well and is a decent price as you don't need a lot of product. Packaging looks quite smart in my shower as well which is a nice bonus. Haven't used it specifically as a body wash but I imagine it does the job fine and hasn't set off my skin when I've been rinsing it from my hair.

Lovely shampoo

I’ve used this shampoo a couple of times now and it makes your hair feel really clean. You will need to follow with a conditioner but overall I would recommend.

Unexpectedly Great!
5 out of 5 stars
Tried this on a whim which the matching conditioner, after being dissatisfied with all supermarket / pharmacy ones. Didn’t expect much, but as other reviews have stated- my hair feels lighter, oils don’t seem to reappear as fast and it’s less frizzy. Would definitely repurchase! Not so keen on the conditioner.

Thought because this was only cheap wouldn’t be that great but how wrong I was it’s really good both for hair and body.

First time use review.

Personal facts: I am 53 and have no artificial colour in my hair. Greys have started to show (in highlights around my forehead and underneath). My hair colour is auburn/copper red and the texture is curly/wavy/frizzy and extremely thick. Chest length.Issues: frizz, itchy & greasy scalp, dry ends, no defined curls (without using an endless of products weighing the hair down, giving me an even itchier scalp).Review: Upon pouring the cleanser (shampoo) into my hands I noted how thin it was. I thought I'd had to use half a bottle in order for it to be enough for all of my hair. I used what I thought was a 'normal' amount and it was plenty enough. It doesn't lather up like other shampoos do but that's never been an issue for me in the past, it just means that the product is more gentle and less stripping of natural oils. I massaged it into my scalp (thoroughly), concentrating on the front and back (as this is where my hair always get the greasiest) and then continued through the rest of the hair. I will admit, I did have to go back to the bottle for some more but my hair is extremely thick (I break bobbles and hair clips on a daily basis - even if they're 'made for thick hair').Upon rinsing the cleanser out, I noticed immediately how my hair was less tangled and it also felt lighter (in weight). No idea how this happened but that's how it felt. Normally, shampoo doesn't make my hair feel detangled. Normally, shampoo makes my hair feel stripped and almost drier after rinsing. In all honesty, I've been advised to use shampoos I can't afford (salon's own or other high end brands) and so the ONLY shampoo that hasn't made my scalp itchy is H&S but is is sooo bad for my dry ends. The Ordinary Cleanser made my hair feel wonderful after just one shampoo and rinse. (I've also left a review for the conditioner). By leaving my age and details of my hair texture and colour, I am hoping that it'll help future buyers. Of course, everything is personal and because it works for me, doesn't mean it'll work for someone else. BUT this is, by a very long mile, so much better than anything I've tried for my hair needs. I will obviously have to wait and see if it makes my scalp itch (I've not tried the hair oil yet but I might buy it to try out on my next order) and what it does to my dry ends and greasy scalp. So far, it feels good though and I would normally have started itching my scalp after half an hour of using a new shampoo. I would LOVE bigger bottles of this but I believe The Ordinary people are very good at listening to their customers, so I am sure this will happen eventually.
