I'm nearly 40 with typical combination skin, I can get hormonal breakouts from time to time on my T zone, but generally my skin is in a good condition. I bought this and thought that obviously I would have fantastic results like so many other reviews but oh my god my skin broke out so badly...cyst type spots that only grew bigger, and a pebble bumpy forehead which I've never had before. I thought that it was an adjustment period and to push through so I used it for 3 weeks but my skin got so bad that others brave enough asked me what was going on with my face. After that I gave up, and had to throw it away.

I rarely have breakouts. And usually, they are not deep and heal quickly. But when I started to use the Matrixyl serum I started to get painful big and deep zits all over my face and jawline. Even on my neck, forehead and between my eyebrows where I never get them. I stopped using the serum after 3 days of use in the evening and it took around 2 weeks to heal completely.

I hate the whole beauty myth. I'm 55, an averagely wrinkled former tomboy, and rarely wear makeup. I have always used whichever moisturiser is on special offer. These I invariably use for a month and then give back to her - she may be gullible but she's sneaky! HOWEVER, a few months back she bought me The Ordinary Matrixyl and I used it twice a day and WITHIN A WEEK I noticed that the lines across my forehead were reduced. Other people noticed it too! I've always looked younger than my age, but usually people think I'm 45. Suddenly that guesstimate has dropped to 'late thirties'. Seriously, I'm not even joking - this stuff works AND is cheap AND is ethically sound AND comes in glass, not plastic. And finally I'm a convert. The Ordinary is extraordinary.

This is my second bottle of this stuff. I’ve been using it twice a day every day for 2 months and have noticed a reduction in wrinkles as well as much softer skin! Highly recommended!
