I have dry, eczema prone skin and this keeps my skin nice and hydrated. I use it combination with the Dr Jart+ ceramidin moisturising toner and the Paula's choice water infusing electrolyte moisturiser, and wake up with dewy skin every morning. Definitely recommend.

This product was a game changer for me. It delivered some much needed hydration to my skin. And I’ve noticed that some of the stubborn blemishes on my face have faded (I’ve only been using it for 2 weeks). 

SkII smells funny as well but I want it on my skin, just like this Dr J product

I was so pleasantly surprised by this product, it feels so nice and luscious on my skin and makes my skin feel so soft while keeping it hydrated. it does have a funny smell but i got past it and fell in love with it, i would definitely repurchase this essence.

This is the equivalent of a refreshing ice-cool coconut water on a hot summer day for your face. Calms irritation immediately, cools any inflammation and completely hydrates the skin. As another reviewer said, it does smell like buttery mashed potatoes but please don't let that put you off. I can see this helping sunburnt skin, chemically compromised skin (like adverse reactions and redness to chemical exfoliants) and wind-whipped skin. I can't fault this at all.
