  • African Botanics Marula Regenerating Body Hydro-Serum

Image 1 of 1

A thoroughly modern, all-natural range inspired by old African beauty rituals, African Botanics harnesses the skin-replenishing properties of Marula oil – the world’s most antioxidant-rich oil. Founded by Craig and Julia Noik – both originally from South Africa – the couple came across Marula on their travels through their native country, and Julia – having recently given birth – was amazed by the speed with which the oil repaired her ‘stretched’, post-pregnancy skin. In fact, the pair were so impressed by its skin-strengthening performance, they persuaded a South African laboratory to analyse its properties – and were bowled over by the findings. Marula oil has incredibly potent antioxidant stability and stars 78% omega 9 to fortify skin’s fabric, reverse signs of damage and protect against ageing effects of free radicals – which is why it is the cornerstone of this exquisite range of face and body treatments.
Apply once or twice a day after shower/bath onto damp skin to the areas that need treating (upper arms, stomach, legs, thighs, bust and hips). Massage into skin with upward circulate movements until completely absorbed. May be layered under other body care products. Ideal as a post-workout or as a cooling relief for swollen legs, feet and as an aftersun treatment.
A supercharged serum, this quickly recaptures skin’s firmness – refining, toning and targeting cellulite. Highly concentrated with a velvety, non-sticky texture, African Botanics’ Regenerating Body Hydro-Serum has been painstakingly formulated to refine, firm and tone the skin with a unique botanical complex that’s rich in stimulating and toning essential oils of thyme, cypress, cedar, peppermint and lemon which together, promote micro-circulation to create an invigorating sense of lightness and wellbeing. Perfect for all those with dehydrated, stressed or sagging skin that’s lost its elasticity, this potent body treatment quickly restructures and regenerates – promoting ‘stretch’, suppleness and enhancing resilience, while caffeine encourages detoxification and in turn, helps to breakdown stubborn cellulite and lessen the ‘orange peel’ effect. Skin is left wonderfully soft to the touch and protected from the ageing effects of the elements.

Aqua (Water), Myrothamnus Flabellifolius (Resurrection) Plant Extract, Aloe Ferox (Bitter Aloe) Leaf Extract*, Hamamelis Virginia (Witch Hazel) Distillate Oil, Sambucus Nigra (Elder) Flower Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Sodium PCA, Menthol, Hexapeptide-3, Menta Piperta (Peppermint) Essential Oil, Caffeine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Barosma Betulina (Buchu) Leaf Oil, Citrus Limonium (Lemon) Essential Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil*, Cedrus Deodora (Cedarwood) Essential Oil, Juniperus Communis (Juniper Berry) Essential Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens (Cypress) Essential Oil, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Essential Oil, Camelia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Oil*, Kigelia Africana Fruit Extract*, Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Tea Extract, Cyclopia Genistoides (Honeybush) Leaf Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, May Contain ± [CI 77019, CI 77891]. *Organic and Wild-Harvested Ingredients.

On the fence about this one...
    3 out of 5 stars
Smells botanical and has a nice cooling effect. Absorbs super quick and doesn't leave a greasy trail. Only issue is price, and I went through a whole tube in a month! Uh-uh not repurchasing. Trying out a Tonic Body Balm next!

    Lovely product but..

I absolutely love the sparkly silver sheen that this product gives your skin and the cooling effect is a must for summer but the smell is so potent and I find it very off putting. The smell didn't disappear either after I put my jeans on and I smelt it when I came home in the evening so I ended up giving it to a friend who could tolerate the smell. Definitely an acquired taste!
