I have high hope for the soothing effect of this essence, but my face is allergic to it instead. This rose essence does not hydrate my skin and disappear immediately after application, leaving a film on my face that may interrupt other skincare absorption. Considering the price, efficacy, and allergy, I won't recommend it.

Lovely packaging as for all African Botanics products. You need a couple of pumps to comfortably cover your face and neck. Smells absolutely lovely and adds a veil of quite weightless moisture. I’ve found this serum to be both gentle and brightening. I’ll probably repurchase this.

At first, I thought it was just a nice light hydration and stopped for a few days/weeks trying out other products. I noticed that when using this and the Neroli infused Marula oil, that the redness around my nose was gone, which never happened before and where I gave up trying to fix it. When I stopped using this essence, it came back. Now I'm back using it day and night and can still layer it nicely with my other products. Will repurchase.

This essence is a great, luxurious extra hydration layer to add to my skincare routine. It melts into the skin, smells amazing, very light (so perfect for layering) and very moisturising. I am really loving African Botanics so far!
