The ultimate intro for those who’re beginning their ‘retinol journey’ (or those with an easily upset complexion), Versed’s Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum is here to prolong your cells’ health.

A time-defying active that rejuvenates your cells to keep them making all the ‘scaffolding’ (the elastin and collagen) that keeps skin smooth and ‘springy’, retinol defies the signs of time and helps to stall your creeping crow’s feet. Combining natural alternatives to retinol – arophira and bakuchiol – alongside encapsulated retinol itself, this works to stimulate your skin without the side-effects, so you can reap the benefits (smoother, refined, plumped and luminous skin) without the reactivity or redness. With the addition of anti-inflammatories and antioxidants to buffer your complexion from aggressors while diminishing the risk of skin rebelling, this ultra-light serum is quickly absorbed to protect and revitalise every complexion. And if that’s not incentive enough to embark on your retinol love affair, this silky treatment is vegan, cruelty-free and green (as in, actually green).

HOW: Smooth two pumps into clean, almost-dry skin. Let it sink in for one minute before your next skinc are move.

WHERE: Face and neck. Bonus points for chest. Be careful when applying to the eye area to avoid getting product in your eyes.

WHEN: Every evening after cleansing. Use alone or between lighter serums and moisturiser.

GOOD TO KNOW: Retinol speeds up skin cell turnover. Protect those fresh, new skin cells by wearing sunscreen daily.

Use within 12 months once opened, or keep it on your vanity unopened for up to two years.

Firm in the belief that ‘skin is complicated, skin care shouldn’t be’, Versed is both effective and affordable – harnessing the finest, proven actives to address the swathe of common skin concerns. Putting the formula first to ensure every product performs (without costing the earth), the brand has a strict list of no-go ingredients (you won’t find any parabens, sulphates or cruelty (for starters)), and transparency’s key – from what’s inside every (recyclable!) tube, to their staunch, anti-filter approach to photography: what you see is always what you get.

No difference seen
I guess the percentage of retinoid IS low

Nice but no improvments
I like this retinol serum, though I’m not sure I’ve seen any improvements when using it. I feel like this is a good starter retinol though, to ease the skin in to it!

Real results with constant use
I found all the SD products fitting well in my skin routine. This retinol serum I use it in the colder months and I can honestly say that it is too harsh for my eyes area (the crowfeet wrinkles), but do wonders for my forehead wrinkles. With constant use, I can see that my forehead wrinkles diminish in volume and depth. If you have realistic expectation, its worth giving a try to this product.
