Body brushing is indisputably one of the best things you can do when it comes to sloughing dead skin, kick-starting sluggish lymph nodes and stimulating circulation to encourage cell regeneration and repair – which is why we’re mad about The Mio Body Brush – made with natural boar bristles and rubber massage nodes, to help pave your way back to super-smooth, cellulite-free skin. Little and often is the best tactic – be firm but gentle and remember the mantra; ‘one cannot buff one’s bottom into nothingness’ (however hard you try). Brush towards the ‘central’ lymph nodes – in the groin, armpits and base of the neck – using sweeping circular motions to work your way up the legs, bottom and midriff, then from wrist to shoulders and across your chest, to accelerate the elimination of the metabolic waste that can accumulate in tissue. Then follow with a cold shower (or at least an icy blast), to shock your circulatory and digestive systems into overdrive.
Best done in the morning, perhaps before you shower. Start at soles of your feet, work up your calves and ALWAYS brush in the direction of your heart (so upwards on legs). This means you are moving in the natural direction of your lymph system (and remember the backs of your knees). Pay special attention to backs of thighs or areas where you have cellulite, before moving onto your upper body. Brush your hands and arms, again moving brush towards heart, then brush under arms too, and pay special attention to wobbly backs of upper arms. Brush your back, as much as you can reach (or ask your partner to help!) and finally, brush your tummy and chest – using clockwise sweeps on tummy, following the direction of your digestive system. Adjust the pressure of the brush to the different parts of your body so it is comfortable. It should be stimulating enough to increase circulation but gentle on your skin. You should see a rosy flush to the areas you have brushed. It’s good to try and give a minimum of 3 minutes for this whole body brushing, ideally 3 times a week.

Mio have triumphed yet again with their ergonomically designed, easy-to-hold and effective to use natural dry body brush. Stimulating, circulatory-boosting and smoothing, this brilliant brush promotes lymphatic drainage, helps with fluid retention, exfoliates roughened skin and helps breakdown stubborn, dimply fat deposits, so you can dare to bare this summer... and beyond. Do it dry, before showering, to open up pores and get skin glowing - and spend more time on the 'sweet spots' (inner thighs and underarms), as well as saddle bags and that bit where your legs meet your bottom - brushing in small, firm circles to flush away toxins and assist the breakdown of the 'orange peel' effect. The increased blood flow delivers extra oxygen to cells - and because the lymph system doesn't have a central pump, the act of brushing helps to 'flush' toxins from the body, diminishing the appearance of cellulite and helping to minimise the likelihood of breakouts (bye bye b-acne). Follow up with a rich, nourishing treatment, like Mio's Shrink to Fit Cellulite Smoother.

Made of natural boar bristles (not nylon!), rubber massage nodules, sustainable bamboo and a comfy cotton handle.

No beauty regime is complete without this!

Dry brushing is now part of my daily beauty regime after discovering my Mio brush. So easy to use and only takes up few minutes of my day, but has made a huge difference to the cellulite on the back of my legs - no longer my biggest body concern.

    Good brush

I really like the body brush. It takes a little bit to get used to the brush (it can be rough at the beginning), but after a while I feel my skin softer. Love the massaging nubs in addition to the brushing.

    Not for sensitive skin

Really love Mio products, but this body brush was a little disappointing. The bristles are too stiff or rough when I attempt to use it. Not for sensitive skin! The loop around the back of the brush is also difficult to handle.
