How To: Achieve Flawless Skin with BECCA

If you can get beyond my wonky ‘do’, awkward eye rolling (where’s a girl to look?) and forgive the ‘7 year old boy’ outfit, you can see my skin transformed by the wonderful Ana from BECCA – demonstrating how to achieve the brand’s signature, natural ‘lit-from-within’ look.

Because I’m prone to mid-morning shine, Ana applied {Resurfacing Primer} all over my face – to ‘grip’ foundation, fill in fine lines, blur enlarged pores and absorb excess oil to keep things nice and ‘matte’ (but not chalky). This was followed with one pump of {Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème} (I’m ‘Cashmere’ – which is pretty pale), mixed with one pump of {Shimmering Skin Perfector} in ‘Opal’ – to blur imperfections, unify my slightly blotchy skin tone and create a luminous, even finish. You can blend with fingertips, a foundation brush or use {The One Perfecting Brush}, which buffs base beautifully to achieve an airbrushed look.

Ana then applied foundation on its own, to disguise my residual redness, before neutralising my under-eye shadows with the {Under Eye Brightening Corrector} (COMING SOON!) – a peachy-toned, pearlescent pre-concealer, which scatters light to instantly diminish dark circles. She then used {Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème} (in the shade ‘Praline’) to cover-up my bags, and camouflage rogue imperfections – before putting some colour back into my cheeks with a bit of {Beach Tint} in ‘Guava’ – applied to the ‘apples’ and blended with fingers.

Next, Ana applied {Lip Priming Perfector} to my lips – to neutralise their colour and in turn, ‘grip’ and intensify the stain – before applied the remaining {Beach Tint} with a brush.

Eyelids were prepped with {Eye Priming Perfector} in ‘Translucent’ – to counteract any greasiness, hold onto eye make up and make the whole eye look ‘alive’. Ana then used the beautiful {Ombre Nudes Eye Palette} to do some soft contouring – using the lightest shade as an all-over base, the second to define the crease and outer corner, the third to enhance the lash line and the fourth to give my brows some ‘ooomph’. These velvety shadows can be used wet or dry, and are so subtly neutral-toned that they even work for facial sculpting – enhancing natural shadows to create the illusion of razor sharp cheekbones.

The look was finished with a slick of sheer gloss (in the pipeline!!), and the lightest dusting of {Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed} in ‘Moonstone’, swept on top of my cheekbones for a little extra radiance and… ‘ta da’. A quick and easy ‘no make up-make up’ look for those who like to look polished, but never too ‘done’.
