{Above, L-R} Sin, Oona, Coco, Gem, Femme, Rouge, Belle Nude

Ooooooooh.... puuuuuurrrrrrrrrdy. Julie Hewett is our brand of the week (for those who haven't been paying attention - consider yourself scolded), and we are so besotted with her exquisite {lipsticks} that we've put together this guide to help you meet your perfect match. There are three shades to flatter all skin tones - Rouge (classic, movie star red), Nude (a 60s, mauve/rose neutral with shimmering golden flecks) and Oona (a sheer, cherry tint) - so everyone should own all three (consider them the white shirt, jeans and t-shirt of your make up wardrobe - timeless classics you'll keep coming back to). Then things begin to get a bit more complex (but not really, it's not physics). For the fair of face, Julie recommends the following shades from both her 'Noir' and 'Bijou' collections: Edie (a pale pink/nude), Femme (a vibrant blue/red), Celeste (a tropical peachy/coral) and Nude. Medium skin tones should wear Rouge, Jacqueline (a blue-toned 'Barbie' fuchsia), Biba (a coral/nude) and Oona. Those blessed with olive tones should opt for Coco (a vampy, Greta Garbo shade), Kiki ('Let's have a kiki, I wanna have a kiki, lock the doooooors tight' - otherwise known as a mauve/peony) and Thandie (a glimmering rosy red - created specifically for its beautiful namesake, Ms. Newton). And dark skinned ladies should venture into more daring territory with Sin (deep, 1920s aubergine), Simone (a peachy, 60s nude), Scarlett (traffic-stopping, hot pink) and Belle (a bright, orange/red).

Now, go forth and paint the town red (and pink and peach and nude and berry...)
