Dita Von Teese’s DIY Beauty Bible

Today Dita tweeted this first image to tantalise us ahead of the release of her DIY Beauty Bible. Heather Sweet created the persona Dita Von Teese to escape from what she has always called her, “ordinary and boring” life growing up in the mid west. She is well known for eschewing the talents of top make up artists on shoots to nip backstage and fashion her face and hair herself. Imagine the type of skill it takes to create a make up look that stays immaculate, while writhing naked in a woman-sized champagne glass full of bubbles. I can’t wait!

<<This is truly a beautiful (coffee table tome-style) image, but it is one that has seen brushes other than the ones you find in a make up bag. I have met Dita and she really does have the most beautiful milky skin….and a figure that makes one just want to give up and go home (with a big bar of chocolate!). BUT she doesn’t look like this, she is 38 and although she looks nothing of the sort, she does have subtle lines around her eyes and mouth, and lets face it no-one’s armpits look like this. I think she is beautiful enough not to have to have the air-brushed cartoon treatment and am really hoping we get a little more reality in a DIY beauty book meant to help the girl on the street…alexia inge
